Duties: Spearhead cross-team architectural decisions to ensure scalable and maintainable software solutions. Drive high-level system and component designs that align with long-term business objectives and technical goals. Oversee implementation standards and contribute to complex development tasks as needed. Lead critical technical initiatives across multiple cross-functional teams globally. Serve as the Technical lead in quarterly planning sessions with product and business stakeholders, providing feasibility assessments, effort estimates, and aligning upcoming work with strategic priorities. Drive project execution by setting priorities, coordinating across teams, and ensuring timely delivery of technology solutions. Drive testing strategies through Proof of Concepts (POCs) and best practice recommendations, guiding teams on integrating regression, functional, performance and Production Validation Testing (PVT) into CI/CD pipelines to ensure end-to-end quality and production readiness. Partner closely with product management and operations to ensure software delivery is tightly aligned with business outcomes. Collaborate with project teams, Quality Assurance (QA), integration partners, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless end-to-end project delivery. Promote DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) best practices to enhance delivery speed, system resilience, and operational excellence. Provide hands-on technical guidance to development teams, uphold coding standards, and support architectural decision making throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field of study plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Java Developer, Systems Engineer, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field of study plus seven (7) years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Java Developer, Systems Engineer, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: designing backend systems using Java to apply object- oriented principles, multithreading, and memory management; utilizing the Spring Framework including Spring Boot, MVC, Security, and Data to build scalable microservices, secure REST APIs, and modular applications; performing ORM and data persistence operations using Hibernate for relational database access; using Groovy for dynamic scripting, configuration, and process automation in enterprise environments; developing PL/SQL stored procedures, triggers, and functions for Oracle-based systems; implementing RESTful APIs for microservices and client-server communication; defining APIs using Swagger and Open API to support contract-first development and automated testing; building responsive and interactive front-end applications using React.js; performing functional and regression testing of APIs using Postman; performing SQL development across Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL, including query optimization and indexing strategies; querying data from Elasticsearch using Spring Data Elasticsearch and the Elasticsearch Java Client; developing index mappings, bulk indexing operations, and DSL-based search queries; integrating Elasticsearch into microservices to support full-text search and analytics use cases; analyzing data using Kibana, including dashboard creation and operational monitoring; developing event-driven systems using Apache Kafka to handle message publication, consumption, and partition management; integrating messaging middleware such as IBM MQ or WebSphere MQ for asynchronous communication between distributed systems; deploying applications in Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) environments, including service bindings and environment configurations; administering Apache Tomcat for application deployment and performance tuning; utilizing Command Line Interfaces (CLI) for system automation, cloud interactions, and deployment workflows; working with Global Load Balancers (GLB) to manage high availability and distribute application traffic; performing version control operations using Git, including branching, merging, and pull requests for collaborative development; managing project builds and dependencies using Maven in multi-module environments; designing CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, building, and deployment across environments; implementing database version control and release management using Liquibase for DDL and DML tracking; enforcing code quality through SonarQube to integrate static analysis into the CI workflow; identifying and remediating security vulnerabilities using Fortify; monitoring application performance and troubleshooting production issues using Dynatrace; aggregating and analyzing logs with Splunk to support root cause analysis and incident resolution; developing dashboards and monitor infrastructure metrics using Grafana; implementing structured and asynchronous logging using Logback, SLF4J, and Log4j for observability and diagnostics; developing unit and integration tests using JUnit and simulating external dependencies with Mockito; conducting performance and load testing using Apache JMeter to validate application scalability; implementing Kerberos-based authentication to support secure access and enterprise-level SSO integrations; defining API security contracts and schemas using Swagger and Open API to ensure consistent access control and documentation; and utilizing IntelliJ IDEA as the primary IDE for developing, debugging, and managing full-stack Java and Spring-based applications.
