DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Design, develop, and implement software solutions to address business challenges through innovative engineering practices. Actively participate in code reviews to ensure solutions adhere to predefined architectural specifications. Participate in Agile or Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives. Ensure applications and data are secure using masking of PI data and comply with industry standards and regulations. Develop, test, and maintain scalable, cloud-based applications, leveraging cloud infrastructure to deliver solutions aligned with industry best practices. Engage in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle, including requirement analysis, integrating architectural standards into application design, documenting specifications, translating technical requirements into application modules, and developing or enhancing software modules. Debug and troubleshoot issues related to application code in development, user acceptance and production environments. Assist in design and architectural reviews by suggesting ways to integrate requirements into designs and data flows. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Data Engineers and Operations Users, to analyze business requirements, define the scope of development, and propose solutions. Optimize application performance and scalability. Set up monitoring and alerts in Dashboards for real-time insights. Work with Production Support team to provide support for any production issues.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 3 years (36 months) of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, IT Consultant, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 5 years (60 months) of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, IT Consultant, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: Designing, developing, and maintaining applications using Java frameworks including Spring Boot and Java EE; Implementing RESTful APIs and microservices architecture; Deploying, storing, computing, and networking using AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and CloudFormation; Designing and managing relational databases using Oracle; Writing Oracle SQL and AWS Athena queries for data retrieval and manipulation; Managing code repositories, branching, and merging using Git for version control; Writing and executing unit tests using testing frameworks such as Junit; Maintaining code quality using test-driven development; Setting up monitoring and alerts using Geneos Dashboards, AWS CloudWatch, and Datadog; Maintaining documentation for code, processes, and configurations using Confluence; Implementing CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes using Jetstream and Jules.
