Software Engineer [Multiple Positions Available]

DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field of study plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, IT Project Coordinator, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field of study plus 4 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, IT Project Coordinator, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: designing Java-based event loaders for data ingestion and reconciliation with AWS S3 to ensure data quality through deduplication and cleaning; developing SQL-based stored procedures for ETL operations from AWS S3 to Amazon Aurora to optimize API consumption; implementing AWS Step Functions to configure event loaders and stored procedures on AWS EMR clusters to optimize data pipelines; developing REST APIs for real-time financial transaction processing to ensure low-latency and fault-tolerant services; maintaining distributed payment processing systems; designing automated retry mechanisms for card transaction capture to reduce manual intervention and prevent financial losses; deploying and monitoring Kubernetes-based microservices using TeamCity and incorporating Splunk dashboards for real-time system health monitoring; working with products such as Apache Iceberg, Delta Lake, Pandas, Apache Spark, or Apache Polaris; utilizing Python, SQL, and Java for data engineering and backend service development; applying machine learning models for financial fraud detection and predictive analytics.
