DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions that directly impact JPMC engineering workforce. Solve business problems through innovation, continuous learning, and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Analyze requirements, incorporate architectural standards into application design specifications, document application specifications, translate technical requirements into programmed application modules, and develop or enhance software application modules. Identify and troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take an active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Work closely with cross-functional teams including UX partners, product managers and other engineering teams. Participate in Scrum Agile development to ensure on-time and quality delivery of software. Contribute to the actual code development and the design and architecture of the platform, ensuring scalability, security, and maintainability. Continually work on self-learning on industry trends and technology to ensure continuous improvements of our technology and platform.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Master's Degree in Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or related field of study plus three (3) years of experience or as Software Engineer, Java Developer, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or related field of study plus five (5) years of experience or as Software Engineer, Java Developer, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires two (2) years of experience with the following: designing and developing scalable, resilient, dynamic, responsive enterprise scale web applications using J2EE; Architecting and implementing robust backend services and micro services using Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring IOC, Spring Transactions, Spring StateMachine, Spring Data JPA, Spring AOP, Spring Security, Spring Batch, Hybernate, and Spring REST; Implementing security best practices using Spring Security to protect applications from vulnerabilities; Developing and maintaining RESTful APIs and GraphQL endpoints using GraphQL Java 8 or greater to support front-end applications and third- party integrations using Apigee and OpenAPI; Developing web applications using JavaScript, TypeScript, React.js, Node.js, HTML5, and CSS3; Designing and implementing messaging and streaming solutions using Kafka to enable real-time data processing and communication between distributed systems; Designing, implementing, and optimizing relational databases using Oracle, Postgres, and Aurora Postgres including build and deploy using Liquibase; Designing and implementing JPA and MyBatis for efficient data access and management; Developing and executing comprehensive testing strategies that includes design and use of Karate framework and Chaos testing using tools including Junit 5, Playwright, Cucumber, Pactflow, Blazemeter and Gherkin syntax; Implementing monitoring and performance optimization strategies using DataDog and Dynatrace to ensure application reliability and performance; conducting reverse proxy configurations using NGINX for load balancing and security; Implementing logging and monitoring solutions with Splunk to enable proactive issue detection, root cause analysis, and system performance optimization; Managing Linux operating systems with Shell scripting and Cloud Foundry applications with CF CLI; Designing and managing cloud infrastructure on AWS, leveraging EKS, ECS, SNS, and SQS services and building infrastructure using Terraform; Utilizing Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration of microservices; Using Git and Bitbucket for version control and peer code reviews to uphold coding standards in a collaborative development; Setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, ensuring seamless integration and deployment processes by using Groovy, Maven, Gradle, SonarQube, Snyk, and AquaScan; Managing and tracking issues in Jira and writing software documentation in Confluence; Supporting and troubleshooting application issues reported in Jira Service desk and ServiceNow for incident management and support ticket resolution; conducting Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, to ensure effective team collaboration and continuous improvement.
