DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Lead and manage a team of software engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure high performance and professional growth. Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software development projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. Allocate tasks and resources effectively among team members to optimize productivity and meet project deadlines. Provide technical expertise and guidance to the team to solve technical challenges and ensure best practices are followed. Work closely with other departments including product management, design, and quality assurance to ensure alignment and successful project delivery. Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and support the professional development of team members. Participate in hiring processes and provide training and mentorship to new team members. Oversee project planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring that projects align with business goals and objectives. Ensure that software developed by the team meets quality standards and adheres to best practices. Maintain clear and effective communication with stakeholders, providing updates on project progress and addressing any concerns or issues that arise.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (any), Computer Science, or related field of study plus seven (7) years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, IT Consultant, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Master's degree in Engineering (any), Computer Science, or related field of study plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, IT Consultant, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires five (5) years of experience with the following: Building robust data architecture patterns for applications across both SQL and No SQL database including Oracle, Cassandra, and Cockroach DB; modeling tables using Erwin, Python, and frameworks including Django and Flask; utilizing AWS deployment and application maintenances including ECS, EKS, Lambda, SQS, and Data Lake; developing applications and APIs with Microservices and Apache Kafka; developing applications and APIs using microservices architecture and Apache Kafka with technologies such as J2EE, Jenkins, NodeJS, Spring, Hibernate, HTML, and CSS; building applications using Java, Junit, and CI/CD pipeline; automation testing tools like Cucumber to simulate virtual users and test load capacity; developing software with Spring Boot, using Maven or Gradle for application dependency management; project scaffolding and optimizing development workflows using modern frameworks including React.js, Angular, Vue.js, and tools including React App and Angular CLI to ensure scalable and maintainable solutions.
