Within the J.P. Morgan Private Bank, the Cross Asset Solutions team of specialists works seamlessly with Private Bank and Wealth Management advisors, strategists, and our cross asset trading partners to help our clients assess market dynamics to identify and structure products and access markets for investment and risk management goals. Within our U.S. Cross Asset Derivative Solutions trading business, we are looking for an Associate to help team members coordinate and develop market investment and risk management conversations across our U.S. advisor platform. We’re looking for someone with a background or strong aptitude for learning derivatives products across OTC and structured notes, and with an ability to coordinate across a team in a fast paced, trading floor environment.
Core skills of the new associate will include strong analytical skills, a financial markets based background, an aptitude to perform analysis and pricing of linear and non-linear derivatives products, and an intellectual curiosity and drive to learn and excel in a fast paced environment. Strong power point, excel and word experience will be required to help the team in presentations and analysis, with an additional focus on utilizing AI tools to further enhance our processes. Additionally, strong interpersonal / team-player, verbal, problem-solving under time pressure and written communication skills will further opportunities to interact with WM advisors in helping with client discussions.
Job responsibilities:
• Work with team to build product and market expertise to help lead conversations with advisors and clients around tailored solutions for client investment and risk management goals
• Assist in product structuring, pricing, market conventions, and execution across Equity, Fixed Income, FX & Commodities OTC derivatives & structured notes
• Preparation of analysis and marketing materials (including pitch books) for advisors and clients
• Help strategize and execute on bringing the derivatives business into the next phase
• Work with strategists to develop and present on investment ideas
• Assisting the marketing effort of trade ideas
• Contributing and participating in internal marketing forums (daily morning meeting)
• Help identify business strategy to support growth and platform enhancement
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
• At least 3 years of financial markets industry experience, with a focus on derivatives structuring and/or trading experience
• A deep understanding and an ability to articulate risk metrics and risk and funding profiles of derivatives instruments, including key financial risk concepts around XVA
• A strong interest and understanding in cross-asset financial markets and macro drivers to markets
• Energetic self-starter that must be organized, detail-oriented, process driven and an effective team player
• Project management skills, especially within large organizations that require working with multiple internal and external parties that have competing priorities
• Strong time management skills, with an ability to multitask and prioritize with minimal oversight
• Strong collaboration skills, able to work with many different individuals and partner effectively with different groups
• Strong Microsoft Office experience required, with familiarity of Bloomberg and/or other financial trading systems
