DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Oversee class action processes, collaborating with client account managers, legal teams, portfolio managers, and third-party vendors to ensure precise and timely filings. Initiate and implement strategic solutions in both corporate actions and class actions to enhance efficiencies, facilitate automation, and mitigate risk. Liase with stakeholders, including portfolio managers, third parties, and technology, operations, and legal teams. Develop and implement an oversight model for offshore teams, focusing on deliverables, including reporting, team meetings, random sampling, and continuous learning sessions. Collaborate with technology teams to build an oversight dashboard that reflects all key performance indicators. Manage Asset Servicing risk associated with global corporate actions, with a focus on operational risk management and delivering a positive client experience. Serve as an escalation point for inquiries. Develop a Corporate Action Risk Dashboard that provides a real-time view of client and firm exposure to elective events, working with Product and Technology teams. Communicate operations issues and remediation steps to senior management, ensuring an understanding of the control environment. Work on strategic initiatives for enrichment, manipulation, and data visualization. Support Fixed Income trade orders, ensuring flow to Middle Office systems, and provide support to portfolio managers, traders, and investment specialists. Develop and apply automation technologies to support trade processing, including settlements, profit and loss, and confirmations. Develop market products to understand each deal and contribute to the optimization of our trading platform. Drive continuous improvement efforts, while reducing risk across all touchpoints in the trade path.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Financial Risk Management, Finance, Business, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Trading Services, Asset Servicing Risk, Security Lending, Financial Analyst, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Financial Risk Management, Finance, Business, or related field of study plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or as Trading Services, Asset Servicing Risk, Security Lending, Financial Analyst, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires 5 years of experience with the following: Investigating cash and stock breaks, record date balancing, and payment processing of coupon and redemption events; Scrubbing and validating corporate action events, reconciling trading positions, managing claims of market buy and sell trades, and managing exceptions as related to Mandatory and Voluntary corporate action events; Supporting day-to-day operational processes and exception resolution; Planning, strategy & execution of technology integration and process automation; Analyzing security-level data and corporate action information using industry financial systems including Bloomberg, Markit, DTCC, TLM, and Broadridge applications.
