As a Vice President Data Owner Lead in the CCB Finance Data Team, you ensure the integrity, quality, and lifecycle management of financial data assets that power our business operations and analytics. You drive clarity in data definitions, documentation, and protection, aligning with Firmwide policies and standards. You engage senior Finance stakeholders, translate business needs into actionable data requirements, and communicate complex concepts through compelling narratives. Together, we make financial data trustworthy, accessible, and ready for impactful decisions.
Job responsibilities
- Champion data governance and quality standards across financial data assets
- Define, classify, and document data critical to business operations and analytics
- Translate stakeholder questions into clear data requirements and use cases
- Coordinate end-to-end delivery of governed data for business applications and reporting
- Drive alignment on data definitions, ownership, and prioritization among stakeholders
- Establish and manage operating cadence for intake, prioritization, and escalation
- Shape and communicate the roadmap for data improvements and delivery
- Resolve data issues by partnering with business and technology teams
- Develop persuasive narratives connecting finance data to business outcomes
- Create high-impact presentations for senior leadership on data quality and strategy
- Communicate trade-offs transparently across speed, quality, and control requirements
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 10 years of experience in analytics solutioning, data ownership, product analytics, business strategy, or consulting
- Expert ability to translate complex data topics into clear executive communications and presentations
- Proven coordination across multiple stakeholder groups to drive alignment on objectives and metrics
- Strong understanding of analytics fundamentals for finance reporting and performance management
- Demonstrated ability to define and document data requirements and quality expectations
- Working knowledge of risk and control considerations related to data management
- Ability to manage concurrent initiatives and adapt plans to evolving business needs
- Working knowledge of SQL and data architecture concepts
- PowerPoint proficiency for executive presentation development
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience with data management and governance, including metadata and documentation practices
- Familiarity with agile delivery tools such as JIRA and repositories like Bitbucket
- Understanding of AI/ML concepts and ability to communicate their implications to non-technical leaders
- Product lifecycle experience or support for product management through requirements and stakeholder communications
- Experience defining critical data elements, lineage, and data quality monitoring
- Familiarity with Python or R
- Ability to drive adoption and improve auditability of finance data outputs
