Card Portfolio Risk Strategy Associate

This is a high-visibility role where your work shapes real business outcomes and connects you with senior leaders across the organization.
As an Associate on the Card Portfolio Risk Strategy team, you will play a key role in managing exposure and risk appetite for the Card business. You will partner closely with the Portfolio Risk Strategy Lead and product General Managers to identify trends, remediate risks, and ensure the continued health of the portfolio. You will also develop risk management strategies in collaboration with the second-line Credit Risk organization.
Job responsibilities
- Evaluate the credit box in partnership with the Portfolio Risk Strategy Lead, product General Managers, Finance, and the second-line Credit Risk team
- Assess new credit expansion opportunities and execute against approved initiatives
- Establish reviews and processes to ensure credit assumptions are being met effectively
- Partner with risk strategy teams to define variables for new credit models and engage with the modeling team on the modeling suite and roadmap
- Develop and implement metrics to track portfolio performance
- Maintain a strong regulatory and controls environment across all risk activities
- Collaborate with stakeholders across risk, underwriting, legal, and finance to balance growth with responsible risk management
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- 2 years of experience in direct-to-consumer lending, originations, and/or retail credit at a large-scale financial services organization
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate and manage credit risk with strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
- Proven strategic thinking and execution skills, with the ability to proactively identify opportunities to innovate and improve
- Experience collaborating across teams and business functions within large, complex organizations
- Proficiency in developing executive-level presentation materials and briefings
- High level of personal initiative with a track record of setting and achieving challenging goals
