J.P. Morgan’s Global Client Money Team seeking a highly motivated individual to join the North America Client Money team responsible for Futures & Options and OTC Clearing business.

As a Margin&Collateral Associate within the North America Client Money team, you will help support daily Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) regulatory filings, provide regulatory guidance and support to various teams within the FCM (Futures Commission Merchant) including sales, trading, marketing, operations finance, control, technology, risk, onboarding, and treasury and business management on manners relating to the treatment, reporting and recordkeeping requirements around client funds. In addition, you will be part of the ongoing review of processes and procedures concerning client funds to identify gaps in such processes and procedures and develop remedial action to close any identified gaps.

Job responsibilities

  • Assist Americas Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Client Money Officer in revising, updating, and maintaining US Client Money Policies and Procedures concerning the treatment, reporting and record keeping relating to funds belonging to U.S. and foreign futures and options customers as well as cleared OTC customers.
  • Formulate daily preparation of client money calculations prepared in accordance with CFTC and self-regulatory organization rules and regulations.
  • Review business processes and new initiatives to ensure that JPMS LLC (a Futures Commission Merchant (FCM) ) comply’ s with regulatory requirements.
  • Perform compliance reviews and risk assessments, identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk, develop and implement corrective measures, and provide guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • College degree required (BA/BS)
  • 5+ years of relevant futures and/or derivatives experience with a futures commission merchant, regulator, investment bank, broker, or market participant.
  • Working understanding of basic rules, regulations, and interpretations pertaining to a FCM including CFTC, NFA, exchanges, clearinghouses, and Dodd-Frank.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting/finance principles
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to establish credibility and strong partnerships with business partners with experience building and maintaining key relationships across departments and functions, and encouraging a culture of engagement.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and energetic individual with proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels both orally and in writing.
  • Capable of operating comfortably within a complex organizational structure.
  • Excellent business judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • A self-starter with the aptitude to initiate action, adapt to change, make difficult decisions, and accept challenging assignments.
  • Work effectively both in a team environment and independently.
