The Trusts & Estates (T&E) Tax practice within Wealth Management (WM) plays a key role in delivering a controlled, high-quality tax return process for WM clients. By coordinating outsourced tax preparation and providing technical support on Federal, State, and foreign tax requirements, the team helps ensure accurate filings, timely completion, and strong oversight across a complex trust and estate landscape. This role sits on the Tax Oversight and Controls team and offers high visibility through close partnership with internal T&E groups and senior practice leaders.

Job Responsibilities
  • Draft tax clearance memos and compile supporting documentation for review and routing.
  • Track open items to completion and maintain clear status updates and follow-through.
  • Support sworn document processing by downloading, organizing, and validating required documentation.
  • Coordinate logistics for document processing activities and escalate gaps as needed to ensure completeness.
  • Prepare reconciliation reports and produce daily/weekly metrics to support oversight routines.
  • Investigate variances and assemble supporting backup for senior review and resolution.
  • Perform basic tie-outs, execute completeness checks, and organize documentation to support tax return review.
  • Coordinate trainings and debriefs by managing calendar invites, agendas, attendee lists, notes/action items, and follow-ups.
  • Pull data from standard reports (Excel/Access) and compile and distribute outputs for analysis and periodic projects.
  • Drive efficiency by identifying automation opportunities and supporting process improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with trust settlements, estate settlements, and regional trust practice groups and communicate effectively with senior practice leaders.

  • Use MS Office proficiently, including Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Apply familiarity with fiduciary income tax, generation-skipping transfer tax, and estate tax.
  • Leverage experience in operations and/or product support in a regulated or process-controlled environment.
  • Build strong working relationships, accept direction constructively, and partner effectively across teams.
  • Support continuous improvement by contributing ideas to streamline workflows and strengthen controls.
