As an Infrastructure Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the Corporate Sector – Enterprise Technology], you utilize strong knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Job responsibilities

  • Applies technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope, with a focus on improving the data and systems running at scale, and ensures end to end monitoring of applications

  • Resolves most nuances and determines appropriate escalation path

  • Executes conventional approaches to build or break down technical problems

  • Drives the daily activities supporting the standard capacity process applications

  • Partners with application and infrastructure teams to identify potential capacity risks and govern remediation statuses

  • Considers upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications

  • Be accountable for making significant decisions for a project consisting of multiple technologies and applications

  • Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience

  • Experience working in relational databases like Microsoft SQL Server or any other RDBMS.

  • Experience in database design and developing. Writing T-SQL code and various database objects like Stored Procs, Views etc. Experience with Git or other VCS

  • Working experience for ETL tools (like SSIS), Reporting tools (like SSRS) and Analytic tools (like SSAS).

  • Experience working on overall database management system including performance tuning, security.

  • Ability to dive into complex problems to troubleshoot and implement functional solutions; Provide technical expertise throughout the software lifecycle including design, implementation, and delivery

  • Understanding cloud, virtualization, APIs, and modern software languages;

  • Experience with developing frameworks that help increase developer efficiency, release velocity, code health and technical standards

  • Experience working with two or more from the following: database, Windows/Unix/Linux environments, large scale software development, security software development

  • Understanding or have experience with agile and lean philosophies

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills; Excellent written and verbal communication; Ability to collaborate with different roles to achieve common goals

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Proficiency Python desirable

  • Understanding and experience of decoupling/microservice patterns is advantageous
