DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Build automations using programming languages to reduce manual effort. Define and collect metrics from systems and applications using industry-standard applications or custom-built processes. Design and develop visualizations of system health. Respond to incidents of system instability or unavailability, diagnosing problems, writing software to resolve issues, and performing Root Cause Analyses to determine the reason for an outage. Perform system logging analysis to ensure application stability. Troubleshoot system and network issues to find potential areas for improvement. Manage and troubleshoot public cloud applications.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or related field of study plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or as Site Reliability Engineer, Technical Lead, SharePoint Administrator, Software Analyst, Software Developer, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Site Reliability Engineer, Technical Lead, SharePoint Administrator, Software Analyst, Software Developer, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: system monitoring and log analysis using Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Datadog, or Splunk; utilizing incident management, application instability and problem remediation using Root Cause Analysis, incident retrospectives and implementing site reliability within an application and platform; developing and integrating APIs and automating tasks using Python, Java, Spring Boot, or .NET; automating infrastructure as code for deployments using Terraform and Ansible; Utilizing white and black box monitoring to identify issues before impacting users; improving reliability, service level objective alerting, and ensuring systems meet defined reliability goals and telemetry collection using tools including Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus, CloudWatch, or Splunk for faster incident response and improved user experience; continuous integration and continuous software delivery using Jenkins and Terraform; container and container orchestration, including ECS, Kubernetes, and Docker for production deployment and system maintenance; Troubleshooting common networking technologies and issues, including Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), API communications and client server computing to diagnose, resolve applications and system failures; cloud computing with providers such as Google Compute Runtime, Amazon Web Services, or Microsoft Azure.
