Join Firmwide Financial Control as a Ledger Oversight & Control Associate—an opportunity to be at the center of how JPMorganChase’s general ledger operates globally.

As a Ledger Oversight and Control Associate on the Corporate Finance Financial Control team, you will serve as first line of oversight, communication, and support for business users of our general ledger (GL) platform (SAP) and key reporting and reconciliation tools. You will partner closely with Technology and business stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve production issues, support project implementations, and help users build confidence through guidance and education. Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide manager-level review of tickets and issues raised through the ServiceNow system for SAP and consolidated daily general ledger (CDGL), ensuring timely resolution, appropriate escalation, and adherence to SLA standards.

  • Oversee the team's interpretation and resolution of business user questions, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and quality of responses.

  • Review and approve escalations to technology, ensuring issues are clearly documented, prioritized, and tracked through to resolution.

  • Monitor ticket trends and volumes, providing regular reporting and insights to senior leadership on open items, resolution rates, and emerging issues.

  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team, providing ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and career development guidance.

  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Lead the team's automation strategy, overseeing the development and maintenance of Alteryx workflows for reconciliation automation, data transformation, consolidation of Excel files into SAP entry templates, and control checks

  • Direct the use of Databricks for advanced analytics, querying large datasets including CDGL balances, FX rates, and business day calendars to support financial reporting and reconciliation Databricks Access.pdf.

  • Oversee GL record owner assignments, alternate owner coverage, and sub owner entitlement exceptions, ensuring appropriate governance and compliance.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field

  • 3+ years in financial control, corporate accounting, external/internal audit, financial reporting, or a closely related finance function

  • Hands-on experience supporting month-end / quarter-end close with tight deadlines (e.g., journal entries, analytical review, variance commentary)

  • Demonstrated experience with balance sheet substantiation / account reconciliations and issue identification/escalation

  • Familiarity with controls disciplines (e.g., SOX/ICFR, audit requests, process documentation, remediation tracking)

  • Strong data skills: advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups, handling large datasets) and comfort working across finance systems/ERPs

  • Experience with process improvement / automation (e.g., Alteryx, SQL, Python, Power BI/Tableau) Proficient in SAP products

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills—able to clearly explain processes, issues, and risks to stakeholders

  • Proven ability to manage multiple deliverables independently with strong attention to detail and sound judgment

  • Deep understanding of accounting procedures and GL governance.

  • Organized, process-oriented, and comfortable working in a regulated environment.
