Help protect customers and the firm by making well-supported, well-documented AML/KYC decisions. As a Case Officer on the CCB AML/KYC Escalations team, you’ll investigate complex escalations, partner closely with Compliance and business stakeholders, and drive consistent, timely outcomes aligned to regulatory expectations.
As a Case Officer on the Consumer and Community Banking Anti-Money Laundering/Know Your Customer (AML/KYC) Escalations team, you will investigate complex customer escalations, collaborate closely with Compliance and business stakeholders, and promote consistent, timely outcomes aligned with regulatory expectations. Within this function, you will perform detailed customer case review operations for the AML/KYC Customer Escalations program to manage portfolio risk and support adherence to applicable regulatory requirements. You will conduct thorough AML/KYC risk investigations on escalated or previously exited customers, clearly document conclusions and supporting rationale, present well-founded recommendations to stakeholders for review, and maintain strong execution against quality, control, and timeliness standards. You will also contribute to AML/KYC strategic initiatives by providing research, analysis, and insights in partnership with teams across Compliance, Technology, Legal, Training, Communications, AML Operations, and the broader business.
Job responsibilities
- Conduct complex AML/KYC risk reviews for escalated or previously exited customers; develop clear, supportable recommendations
- Manage daily case queue to meet SLAs, regulatory requirements, and internal quality standards
- Document investigation steps, conclusions, and rationale in a clear and audit-ready manner
- Present proposed decisions and supporting analysis to Compliance partners and leadership for review
- Identify key issues, emerging risks, and risk-mitigation strategies; escalate complex situations appropriately
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of AML/KYC policies, standards, and role-specific requirements; apply best practices and controls
- Support AML/KYC initiatives and projects through research, analysis, and timely completion of assigned deliverables
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience in financial services, risk, controls, audit, quality assurance, operations, or AML/KYC (or equivalent relevant experience)
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and structured problem-solving skills
- Ability to analyze root causes of compliance/risk issues and translate findings into recommendations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including comfort presenting conclusions to stakeholders
- Ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities, and perform in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
- Sound judgment and decision-making; knows when to escalate complex situations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- CAMS certification
- Experience with JPMorganChase internal systems and multi-system processing
- Demonstrated ability to challenge the status quo and strengthen risk mitigants/controls
- Strong technical writing skills producing clear, decision-ready documentation
