JPMorganChase's US Rates Strategy team within CIB Global Research delivers actionable research and trade frameworks across US Treasuries (cash), TIPS, and Agency/SSA markets. As an Analyst in New York City, you will work alongside senior strategists to develop the analytics, models, and written content that support the team's core views and publications. This is a fast-paced, front-office research role with meaningful exposure to Sales & Trading and institutional clients through the work you produce.

This role is designed for Analyst-level candidates (typically 0–2 years of experience), and we welcome both internal and external applicants, including new graduates.

Job summary
As an Analyst in our US Rates Strategy team, you will contribute to daily and thematic US rates strategy research by maintaining datasets, building repeatable analytics in Python, producing charts/tables, and supporting the creation of timely written market commentary. The role emphasizes strong fundamentals, attention to detail, and a desire to learn macro rates markets from experienced senior strategists.

Job responsibilities

  • Support daily research production by monitoring key macro and rates developments, updating recurring publications, and maintaining core charts and trackers across UST cash, TIPS, Agency/SSA, bills, and repo
  • Build and maintain analytical tools and datasets in Python and Excel to support relative value, curve, carry/roll, inflation breakevens, and funding/collateral analysis
  • Partner with senior strategists to develop and refine cash rates strategy frameworks by producing scenario analysis, backtests, and clearly documented methodologies
  • Contribute to written research by drafting sections, creating exhibits, checking accuracy, and translating quantitative work into clear takeaways for internal and external audiences
  • Collaborate with Sales & Trading and adjacent research teams (e.g., Economics, cross-asset strategy) to incorporate market color, respond to ad hoc questions, and support client dialogue, primarily through providing analytics and written content
  • Use JPMorganChase's suite of AI tools to accelerate research workflows (e.g., summarization, drafting support, coding assistance) with strong judgment, appropriate controls, and quality checks

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 0+ years of experience in markets, research, analytics, trading support, or a related role; new graduates are welcome
  • Clear interest in macro and rates markets, with a desire to learn US Treasuries (cash), TIPS, Agencies, and SSA
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to explain analyses clearly and concisely.
  • Python proficiency (ability to write clean, reusable code for data analysis). Experience with common libraries (e.g., pandas, numpy, matplotlib/plotly) is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort working with data in Excel
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a time-sensitive environment and collaborate effectively across a team
  • Comfort learning and using JPMorganChase AI tooling as part of day-to-day research workflows

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Coursework or prior exposure to fixed income markets, macroeconomics, inflation, and/or money markets (bills/repo)
  • Familiarity with market data tools (e.g., Bloomberg) and working with time-series financial datasets
  • Prior experience producing research notes, publications, or analytical write-ups for technical or investment audiences
