NCR Voyix is quickly accelerating its adoption of GCP and Azure Cloud technologies, so our applications can provide our customers with the enterprise grade performance and availability they have come to expect. The Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) role will be building tools and providing subject matter expertise the Restaurants business unit. We’ve taken an “automate everything” approach to building, deploying, and operating their services. You’ll get to establish yourself as a technical leader by utilizing a broad range of industry leading technologies and use automation to help improve product availability. This will in turn help drive the acceleration of Restaurant software portfolio.
Responsibilities:
• Work as part of the newly initiated High Availability Disaster Recovery team
• Ensure alignment of technical solutions with business strategy and goals
• Establish and enforce top-level coding standards, practices, and development methodologies
• Engage with stakeholders at all levels to shape and influence the HA and DR strategy
• Promote innovation and the adoption of new technologies and practices within the team
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
• Excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
• Understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices
• 5+ of professional experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Dev Ops, or Software Development role
• 3+ years of experience working with GCP/Azure Cloud infrastructure/network
• 3+ years of experience working with GCP/Azure Cloud project/subscription constructs
• 3+ years working with CI/CD tools and technology (Jenkins, Github Actions and Artifactory)
• 3+ years working with IaC/CM technology (Terraform, Ansible, Helm, and Chef)
• 3+ years of working with Cloud SQL databases
• Experience with enterprise level applications
• Ability to document and publish recommendations and guidance
ADDITIONAL SKILLS:
• Production implementation of disaster recovery strategies for cloud applications
• Automation of disaster recovery failover processes (DNS, load balancers, health checks)
• Proven track record of leading major projects
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues in complex systems with future improvement in mind
• Manage systems deployed in Kubernetes driven hosting environments and IaaS virtual machine topologies
• Experience with GKE and AKS
• Experience with Flux CD and Argo CD
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, BigQuery, PostgreSQL, Bigtable, and/or Cosmos DB
• Experience with following tools: Jenkins, Sensu, Datadog, Filebeat
• Experience in configuring Kafka, Cassandra, Hadoop/YARN, and Zookeeper
• Significant experience with at least one traditional development language (go, c#, ruby, python, java, etc.)
• Significant experience automating tasks with a shell language (bash, PowerShell)
• Expertise in architecture, installation, implementation, integration, security, and administration in a multi-platform system in remote data center environments
• Experience with agile concepts, especially Scrum
• Experience of using Jira and Confluence
