Job Title: Network Security Engineer
Experience Level: 9–14 Years

Position Summary:
We’re hiring a Network Security Engineer to lead L3/L4 escalations and drive engineering efforts across our security infrastructure, with a primary focus on Fortinet platforms. This is not a NOC or operations role—we're looking for a technical lead who thrives on solving complex problems, designing scalable security architecture, and owning strategic firewall and connectivity initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the technical lead for Fortinet firewalls, responsible for advanced configuration, design, and troubleshooting.

  • Handle L3/L4 escalations for network security incidents, performance issues, and connectivity anomalies.

  • Architect and implement new firewall solutions, VPNs, and segmentation strategies aligned with security policy and business needs.

  • Provide escalation support and general platform expertise for F5 load balancing (LTM/GTM) and Zscaler (ZIA/ZPA), as needed.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on engineering projects, migrations, and security enhancements.

  • Review and validate firewall change requests, offering guidance to ensure security and performance integrity.

  • Contribute to infrastructure documentation, architecture standards, and policy enforcement.

  • Evaluate emerging security technologies and recommend improvements to strengthen the security posture.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

  • 10+ years of experience in network/security engineering with a focus on enterprise-scale firewall infrastructure.

  • Fortinet expertise required: FortiGate NGFW, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, IPsec/SSL VPN, SD-WAN.

  • Familiarity with F5 BIG-IP (LTM/GTM) and basic configuration for app delivery and HA routing.

  • Working knowledge of Zscaler solutions helpful, but not core to the role.

  • Deep understanding of TCP/IP, routing (BGP, OSPF), NAT, segmentation, and firewall policy design.

  • Strong documentation skills and ability to interface with both technical and non-technical teams.

  • Proven ability to lead high-priority projects and critical issue resolution without constant oversight.

Preferred Skills:

  • Fortinet NSE 4–7 strongly preferred.

  • Experience with network automation (Ansible, Python, APIs) a plus.

  • Exposure to hybrid cloud security architectures (AWS/Azure).

  • Familiarity with compliance standards (PCI, NIST, SOC2) in network security contexts.
