What You Need To Know About The Role-
The Legal Specialist role supports PayPal’s litigation team with a variety of information requests, court orders, and money movement activities. Using all PayPal’s tools, this role will be responsible for searching for relevant accounts, gathering documentation, and preparing responses related to court orders and information requests received from government agencies and third-party attorneys.

Meet our team

Our “customers” are government agencies and third-party attorneys that served PayPal with a legal order. A Legal Specialist will not only provide guidance or recommendations to litigation regarding how to proceed with a legal request but will also be able to interpret legal language with the goal to independently close the issue as quickly and as efficiently as possible with minimal guidance from litigation or leadership.

We need to ensure cases are worked accurately and in a timely manner while balancing customer, financial, legal risk and compliance impact with the execution of resolution.

Your day to day

In your day to day role you will...

• Analyze accounts for claim validity and take action based on account history and trends.
• Conduct research to support legal processes and fulfill legal orders.
• Collaborate with litigation teams to manage legal risks and provide recommendations on settlements and actions.
• Interpret legal documents to accurately fulfill requests and ensure compliance with privacy guidelines.
• Mentor peers on processes and manage tasks efficiently to handle volume shifts and ensure timely responses to legal inquiries.
  
  
  

What Do You Need To Bring

• Experience handling dispute resolution, fraud cases, and/or legal orders (Levies, UCCs, Subpoenas) preferred.
• Strong knowledge of systems and PayPal tools.
• Exceptional communication skills and ability to work with attorneys and staff.
• Highly organized, self-directed, and detail-oriented with minimal supervision.
• Ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
