This job implements tasks within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), follows internal conventions and procedures, makes technical decisions, collaborates with peers and project leads, and contributes to code and design reviews.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Implements tasks within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), receiving structure and oversight from more experienced staff
  • Follows well-established internal conventions and standard procedures
  • Understands internal standards & processes an applies them to make technical decisions
  • Collaborates with peers, manager, and project lead to gain understanding of tasks and review solutions
  • May contribute to code & design reviews

Expected Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

  • SDLC Implementation & Execution

    • Implement backend API testing and web automation tasks within the Software Development Lifecycle, receiving structure and oversight from senior staff
    • Execute backend testing implementations including microservices testing, database testing, and integration testing
    • Implement CI/CD pipeline testing components for backend services and web applications using established frameworks
    • Execute test plans for backend services, API releases, and web application deployments
    • Implement automated testing solutions covering unit, integration, and end-to-end testing using Playwright and other established tools
    • Create product test deliverables including test documentation, execution reports, and defect tracking
  • Standards & Procedures Application

    • Follow well-established internal testing conventions and standard procedures
    • Understand internal testing standards and processes and apply them to make technical decisions
    • Implement functional testing solutions for financial services backend systems and web applications
    • Execute web accessibility testing approaches following WCAG guidelines and established processes
    • Apply internationalization testing procedures for web applications across different locales
    • Leverage GenAI tools and techniques to enhance personal productivity, accelerate learning, and improve code quality
  • Collaboration & Learning

    • Collaborate with peers, manager, and project leads to gain understanding of testing tasks and review solutions
    • Proactively seek guidance and feedback to continuously improve testing implementations
    • Contribute to code and design reviews with focus on testing perspectives and quality considerations
    • Actively learn from senior team members and apply new knowledge to enhance testing effectiveness
    • Utilize GenAI-powered tools to accelerate learning, generate test cases, and optimize testing workflows
  • Technical Implementation

    • Implement device coverage testing and browser compatibility testing following established strategies
    • Execute comprehensive testing for backend services and web applications following defined procedures
    • Contribute to testing implementations ensuring system integration and cross-browser compatibility
    • Apply established testing approaches including contract testing and automated regression testing
    • Use GenAI tools to enhance test automation development, debugging, and problem-solving efficiency
  • Testing Implementation

    • Implement testing procedures and follow established metrics for measuring testing effectiveness
    • Create and maintain testing documentation following established templates and standards
    • Execute testing initiatives within established frameworks and under senior guidance
    • Apply shift-left testing principles in backend and web development projects
  • Quality Assurance Execution

    • Execute testing procedures for financial services compliance following established guidelines
    • Ensure backend services and web applications meet quality standards through systematic testing
    • Execute testing tasks for system integration, data integrity, and cross-browser compatibility
    • Follow established testing governance and review processes
  • Continuous Learning & Growth

    • Stay current with testing technologies and actively learn new tools and methodologies
    • Proactively utilize GenAI and AI-powered testing tools to accelerate personal productivity and learning
    • Seek opportunities to improve testing processes and contribute suggestions for enhancements
    • Participate in training and knowledge-sharing initiatives

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical Experience

    • Experience with API testing tools (REST Assured, Postman) and database testing concepts
    • Knowledge of web technologies, browser developer tools, and debugging techniques
    • Familiarity with financial services applications or regulated industry testing
    • Experience with agile/scrum methodologies and collaborative development practices
  • Professional Development

    • Experience with test automation frameworks and testing best practices
    • Knowledge of accessibility testing and compliance requirements
    • Familiarity with performance testing concepts and tools
    • Interest in machine learning applications and GenAI tools for productivity enhancement
    • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies and methodologies
  • Domain Knowledge

    • Basic understanding of financial services regulations and compliance requirements
    • Experience with web application testing and cross-browser compatibility
    • Knowledge of internationalization and localization testing concepts
    • Familiarity with testing metrics and quality measurement approaches

The US national annual pay range for this role is $100,500 to $173,250
