PayPal Data Services, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of PayPal, Inc., seeks Software Engineer in Austin, TX

Job Duties: Develop efficient, elegant, clean, reusable code with no unnecessary complication or abstraction. Work with business partners to understand the requirements and develop elegant reusable solutions/code. Create and review well-articulated, detailed low-level design documents. Iterate and develop high-quality product solutions spanning multiple product domains. Provide recognized technical and business leadership to provide deep technical support across a range of functionality. Manage workload and other assignments efficiently while being able to resolve time-critical situations reliably and professionally. Participate in the development of tools, systems, and processes aimed at improving product supportability or overall support productivity. Experience with developing large-scale enterprise applications, primarily with JAVA with hands-on experience in RDBMS and NoSQL databases. Create robust technical designs using advanced object-oriented design and development principles. Ensure code simplicity, quality, observability, and scale/performance—translating functional requirements to low-level design and code with the right implementation choices and engineering best practices. Act as a trusted committee for one or more projects to critically review the code and take accountability in ensuring high standards of code quality with zero Production defects. Design and implement solutions that ensure faster time to market using Spark, Distributed Databases, and Cloud Technologies. Learn PayPal proprietary technology and tools, operational cadence, and site architecture to efficiently build and deploy platform components. Translate product requirements to functional requirements and define acceptance criteria. Act as the Domain Lead and Senior Tech Lead to execute large projects with high complexity and velocity, leading design and detailed solutions by partnering with 4IAB/X-functional teams. Provide technical leadership for the scrum team and proposed technical solutions for new or revised features. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus two years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Special Skill Requirements:

1. Build and optimize data-driven applications using DynamoDB ensuring efficient query execution and transaction processing (2 years)

2. Develop enterprise-grade microservices using Java, J2EE, Spring Framework to ensure scalability, maintainability and security of backend services (2 years)

3. Create RESTful APIs for seamless integration with internal and external ad delivery systems (2 years)

4. Proficient in AWS Cloud Technologies including EC2, Lambda, DynamoDB, and ECS ensuring scalable and secure deployments (2 years)

5. Develop real-time monitoring dashboards using CloudWatch and other internal tools, providing deep insights into system performance and health (2 years)

6. Create Python-based automation scripts for proactive monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting (2 years)

7. Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using Git and Docker, reducing deployment times and enhance developer productivity (2 years)

8. Design custom automation tools for batch jobs, reducing manual intervention and optimizing workflow performance (2 years)

9. Design and deploy scalable cloud infrastructure using AWS CDK with Typescript, automating resource provisioning for EC2 instances, Lambda functions, and S3 storage (2 years)
