About the Role
We are looking for a Director of Product Marketing to lead Venmo's product marketing organization and drive measurable growth across the full consumer funnel. This role sits at the intersection of marketing strategy, product development, and business performance — requiring someone who can set vision, build team capability, and deliver enterprise-scale GTM programs for one of the most recognized consumer fintech brands in the US.
The Director will lead a product marketing team in close collaboration with Product, Analytics, Lifecycle Marketing, Brand, Integrated Marketing, and Commercial Growth. A successful candidate is a strategic and operational leader who brings deep product marketing expertise, a high standard for messaging craft, and the credibility to influence cross-functional decisions at the director and VP level.
What You'll Do
Strategy & Vision
Define and evolve Venmo's product marketing strategy, connecting GTM programs to product adoption, acquisition, engagement, and revenue goals across P2P, Pay with Venmo, Venmo Debit Card, Venmo Credit Card, Stash, and other Venmo products
Set annual and quarterly product marketing roadmaps, balancing evergreen positioning work with new product and feature launch execution
Develop and socialize the product marketing vision to VP and C-suite stakeholders, including representation in planning cycles, MBRs, and performance reviews
Identify opportunities in consumer segmentation, competitive differentiation, and go-to-market infrastructure to accelerate product growth and close measurement gaps
People Leadership
Lead, develop, and retain the product marketing team
Define team structure, capacity planning, and hiring strategy to scale the org in line with business complexity
Build a culture of customer obsession, accountability, and creative excellence across the team
Coach team members on program ownership, stakeholder management, and career development
GTM & Program Ownership
Own product marketing performance targets — setting goals, tracking progress, and adapting strategy in response to performance data across adoption, activation, and engagement objectives
Drive end-to-end GTM execution for major product launches, feature releases, and commercial partnerships — from brief through in-market activation and post-launch optimization
Govern positioning and messaging quality standards: segmentation frameworks, competitive differentiation, narrative consistency, and brand alignment
Own the product marketing experimentation roadmap — setting hypotheses, measurement standards, and synthesizing learnings into strategy
Lead GTM development for new Venmo products and commercial partnerships, driving adoption and engagement across paid, owned, and in-product channels
Cross-Functional & Infrastructure
Partner with Product and Design to influence roadmap priorities — translating consumer insights and marketing performance data into product decisions
Collaborate with Analytics and Marketing Measurement to build attribution frameworks, brand health tracking, and cohort-level insights that inform GTM strategy
Represent product marketing needs in product and engineering planning cycles — driving alignment on feature prioritization and consumer experience decisions
Partner with Lifecycle Marketing, Integrated Marketing, and Brand to ensure consistent messaging and coordinated execution across all consumer touchpoints
What We're Looking For
10+ years of marketing experience, including 5+ years in product marketing — with demonstrated experience managing managers and multi-squad teams
Proven experience leading GTM strategy at enterprise scale, with demonstrated impact on product adoption, engagement, and revenue KPIs
Deep expertise in consumer positioning, messaging craft, audience segmentation, and go-to-market execution
Strong fluency in full-funnel marketing — paid media, owned channels, lifecycle, in-product surfaces — and how product marketing connects across each
Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional decisions at VP and C-suite level, including product roadmaps, marketing investments, and org design
Experience defining measurement frameworks and working with analytics teams to establish GTM attribution and incrementality standards
Track record of building and scaling high-performing teams through periods of organizational change
Highly analytical, with the ability to synthesize complex performance data into clear strategic narratives and actionable next steps
Financial services or fintech experience preferred
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required
