Job Description:

At Regions, the Financial Crimes Fraud Operations Team Leader is responsible for leading a team focused on activities related to Fraud monitoring and prevention.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Researches and analyzes potentially fraudulent activity related to accounts or other bank products and consults with senior management as a subject matter expert regarding critical or high priority concerns
  • Identifies valid and fraudulent charges, sets up fraud files, uses multiple research techniques to resolve issues, reconciles and summarizes fraud losses and communicates with customers to notify of inquiry and problem resolution, ensuring satisfactory service
  • Communicates with account officers and branches
  • Completes database for Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) referrals
  • Assists in ensuring that all documentation is properly maintained in case management systems
  • Proactively identifies complex schemes and transactional patterns and collaborates with management to maintain up-to-date knowledge
  • Assists senior management in team knowledge and skill-set development
  • Offers advice and guidance to junior team members, ensuring they are equipped with the proper tools and knowledge

This position requires the tracking of time and is eligible for overtime pay for hours worked in excess of 40 per week under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Five (5) years of experience in Financial Crimes, BSA/AML, Operations, or related work experience

Preferences

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Banking loss prevention experience
  • Experience with case management systems and databases
  • Experience leading a team
  • Experience in the following systems for Debit/Credit, Direct Credit (DC) Fraud Monitoring: PRM, VRM, Mainframe and Structured Query Language (SQL) Database

Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to research and analyze data
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong verbal, written communication, and organizational skills
  • Strong work ethic and self-motivation

This position must be within a reasonable driving distance to a Branch, Consumer Operations, or Professional Office Building with the primary location being for Birmingham, AL, Nashville, TN, Atlanta, GA or Charlotte, NC. Regions will not provide relocation assistance for this position, and relocation would be at your expense. Exceptions to the geographic location requirement may be made for current Regions associates who work remotely.

Compensation Details

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.

The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.

Job Range Target:

Minimum:

$48,710.00 USD

Median:

$62,220.00 USD

Incentive Pay Plans:

This job is not incentive eligible.
