At Ascentium Capital, the Credit Analyst is responsible for evaluating commercial loan applications for new loan transactions as well as for processing annual loan reviews on existing borrowers.

Ascentium Capital, a division of Regions Bank, provides convenient access to financing for business equipment and technology and serves small organizations to Fortune 500 companies with programs that benefit manufacturers, distributors and direct to businesses nationwide. Primary Responsibilities

  • Reviews and analyzes credit information in order to make appropriate credit decisions within established policies and regulations
  • Initiates, completes, and submits accurate credit-related reports and documentation on a timely basis to accordance with established business processes and to assist the origination channels in achieving business goals and objectives
  • Orders and reviews loan documentation and researches any issues as needed
  • Gathers and maintains financial background information on present and prospective customers and develops credit studies for loan officers and committees as needed
  • Develops, implements, and maintains uniform credit policies and procedures to ensure consistency and enhance external and internal customer satisfaction
  • Works with the senior executives on all business opportunities and issues related to credit policies and credit decisions
  • Coordinates communication between the sales team, potential customers, and the review committee on credit, underwriting, and funding related issues
  • Works in conjunction with the appropriate managers and executives to support each business unit's performance goals and service standards
  • Works with either close supervision or under clearly defined procedures

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

This position is incentive eligible.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field
  • One (1) year of experience in commercial/bank underwriting or related experience

Preferences

  • Experience with Fair Isaac credit models
  • Experience in formal bank underwriting training

  • Ability to work in a team environment when applicable
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)

  • Strong skills in calculating financial ratios
  • Strong understanding of personal and business credit reports
  • Strong verbal, written communication, and organizational skills
  • Strong work ethic and self-motivation

This opportunity may be filled at a higher level based on skills and qualifications.

Compensation Details

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.

The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.

Job Range Target:

Minimum:

$52,181.42 USD

50th Percentile:

$69,720.30 USD

Incentive Pay Plans:

This role is eligible to participate in a discretionary incentive plan. Employees have the potential to receive a discretionary award based on performance against defined metrics and goals.
