At Regions, the RAH Investor Sales and Servicing Capital Officer is responsible for investor activities and internal coordination in the Investor Sales and Servicing group. These activities include managing investor relationships in a proprietary and multi-investor fund environment and collaborating with other internal groups at Regions Affordable Housing (RAH) to meet investors’ needs.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Supports the RAH Investor Sales and Servicing Group Manager with the management of existing investor relationships and identification of prospective investors which may include the following: working with Regions’ third-party brokers, contacting potential investors, scheduling and attending meetings, preparing meeting materials, presenting investment opportunities, and maintaining ongoing communication
  • Serves with supervision as the primary relationship manager for select investor accounts which includes, but is not limited to: understanding their investment needs, pricing parameters and preferred investment criteria and underwriting standards, managing standing pipeline calls, facilitating deal and fund closings, managing annual relationship visits, coordinating with Asset Management on portfolio or transaction reviews, and arranging client entertainment and closing events
  • Assists the multi-investor fund process to include aggregation of product, preparing timelines and fund marketing materials, working with counsel to draft upper tier legal documents, presenting the fund materials and key characteristics to the internal approval group, and managing the ongoing investor due diligence and closing process
  • Assists the investor benefit schedule and transaction structuring, using Regions’ financial model, to reflect investors’ yield and provide appropriate reporting
  • Works in conjunction with the Originations team to analyze investor outlets and select assets for LIHTC funds that optimize investor capital, deal originations and client needs
  • Coordinates with Originations and the Underwriting team throughout the closing process to identify and mitigate transaction risks
  • Provides guidance about the syndication strategy informally at preliminary stages and formally at final approval
  • Monitors Regions’ risk management requirements, including Regions’ warehousing requirements; provides required reporting and communication to the group manager, the appropriate credit officers for Real Estate Capital Markets (RECM) and RAH, and the head of RAH for individual transactions
  • Monitors third party risk management requirements and control requirements in Regions’ systems
  • Reports required internal metrics such as time on warehouse, projected investor closing timeframes, projected revenue and timing

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

This position is incentive eligible.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field
  • Five (5) years of relevant experience in the tax credit industry which may include capital markets, Originations, or housing tax credit syndication
  • Understanding of/experience with the housing tax credit market

Preferences

  • Master's of Business Administration
  • Chartered Financial Analyst designation
  • Series 24 license or similar

Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent writing and verbal presentation skills including experience with sophisticated financial models; proficiency with MS Office products
  • Experience with internal collaboration with a wide range of partners
  • Resourceful and have experience advocating for clients as appropriate
  • Strong project management/complex transaction closing skills
  • Willingness to travel, at times on short notice, an average of 25%

This position may be filled at a higher level depending on the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience.

Compensation Details

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.

The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.

50th Percentile:

$207,595.00 USD

Incentive Pay Plans:

This role is eligible to participate in a discretionary incentive plan. Employees have the potential to receive a discretionary award based on performance against defined metrics and goals.
