On the Cloud Capability team, you will work with clients across industries to design, build, and optimize secure and scalable AWS cloud solutions. You’ll collaborate with stakeholders from hands-on engineers to senior executives, you will lead client engagements and mentor junior team members.

An AWS Platform Data Architect should be proficient to advanced in several of the technologies below and should have demonstrated expertise in one or more areas:

Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For this position, the base salary pay range is $131,000 to $186,000 for Senior Consultant level and is $145,000 to $206,000 for Principal level. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.

What You’ll Do
- Design, build and operationalize large scale enterprise data solutions and applications using one or more AWS data and analytics services in combination with 3rd parties - Spark, EMR, DynamoDB, RedShift, Kinesis, Lambda, Glue, Snowflake.
- Empower our clients to implement cloud-based solutions by utilizing the AWS platform.
- Responsible for setting the overall direction of the technical solution and implementation of enterprise applications.
- Provide designs for engineers on the project on how to deliver programmatic elements of the implementation.
- Own the content and lead workshops on technical topics with the client.
- Develop architectural artifacts to lead the delivery of a successful implementation.
- Engage with technical stakeholders of the client and third parties to understand how their systems work.
- Get closer to business stakeholders and shaping solutions that deliver business outcomes.
- Work flexibly including virtual, onsite, and may include regional travel up to 30%.
An AWS Platform Data Architect should be proficient to advanced in several of the technologies below and should have demonstrated expertise in one or more areas:
- Extensive hands-on experience implementing data migration and data processing using AWS services: VPC/SG, EC2, S3, AutoScaling, CloudFormation, LakeFormation, DMS, Kinesis, Kafka, Nifi, CDC processing Redshift, Snowflake, RDS, Aurora, Neptune, DynamoDB, Cloudtrail, CloudWatch, Docker, Lambda, Spark,Glue, Sage Maker, AI/ML, API GW, etc.
- Consulting or client service delivery experience on Amazon AWS (AWS).
- Experience in big data, database and data warehouse architecture and delivery.
- Professional experience in solution or technical architecture in the cloud.
- AI/analytics/information analysis/database management in the cloud.
- IoT/event-driven/microservices in the cloud- experience with private and public cloud architectures, pros/cons, and migration considerations.
- Familiarity with the Technology stack available in the industry for data management, data ingestion, capture, processing and curation: Kafka, StreamSets, Attunity, GoldenGate, Map Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, Hbase, Cassandra, Spark, Flume, Hive, Impala, etc.
- Experience modernizing legacy data systems from Oracle and/or DB2 to AWS equivalent services.
- Legacy Database experience (IMS, VSAM, ADABAS, etc.)
- DevOps on an AWS platform.
- Experience developing and deploying ETL solutions on AWS.
- Strong in Java, C#, Spark, PySpark, Unix shell/Perl scripting.
- Familiarity with industry-standard technology stacks for metadata management, including Data Governance, Data Quality, Master Data Management (MDM), Data Lineage, and Data Cataloging.
