We are currently looking for a Senior Consultant or Principal level Security Engineer with deep expertise in Disaster Recovery (DR) strategy and ransomware readiness.

Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.For Senior Consultant level, the base salary for NY and NJ is $120,000-$206,000. For Principal Consultant level for NY and NJ is $133,000 to $227,000. For other cities at the Senior Consultant level, the base salary is $110,000-$188,000. Principal level, the base salary range is $122,000-$208,000. In addition, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.

We are currently looking for a Senior Consultant or Principal level Security Engineer with deep expertise in Disaster Recovery (DR) strategy and ransomware readiness.
What You’ll Do
- Design and implement enterprise DR strategies tailored to ransomware threats, hybrid cloud, and critical system recovery tiers
- Lead technical assessments and DR architecture reviews, including dependency mapping and failover designs
- Define and implement immutable backup solutions with ransomware-specific recovery playbooks
- Develop and test automated cloud recovery processes (e.g., AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery, Azure Site Recovery)
- Integrate DR with cloud-native security and resilience capabilities (e.g., AWS IAM, Security Hub, GuardDuty)
- Lead tabletop exercises and contribute to playbook development for ransomware and infrastructure outages
- Collaborate with application owners, infrastructure leads, and security architects to validate RTOs, RPOs, and failover readiness
- 6+ years of experience in IT Disaster Recovery or technical resilience consulting
- Deep knowledge of ransomware recovery strategies, immutable backups, and cloud-native DR platforms
- Experience with platforms like Rubrik, Cohesity, CommVault, or other Resilience platforms
- Hands-on experience with AWS security and infrastructure services
- Strong understanding of technical dependency mapping tools and methods
- Familiarity with ITSM, CMDB, and orchestration tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Zerto, Rubrik)
- Excellent client communication and documentation skills
