Role: Slalom Flex (Project Based) – Business Analyst – Technology and AI

The Business Analyst will bring strong generalist skills, technical aptitude, and foundational knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) concepts to support AI innovation workshops and technology-driven initiatives. This role requires a self-starter who thrives in ambiguity, can document processes, and drive clarity across complex engagements. The Business Analyst will partner with stakeholders to elicit requirements, define product vision, and translate business needs into actionable technical specifications, ensuring successful delivery of AI-enabled solutions.

What You’ll Do

AI Innovation & Facilitation

  • Support and facilitate AI innovation workshops, capturing insights and translating them into actionable requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define product vision, roadmap, and priorities for AI initiatives.

Requirements Gathering & Analysis

  • Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, and process reviews to capture business needs.
  • Translate requirements into clear documentation (BRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria).
  • Validate requirements with technical teams and business stakeholders.

Technical & AI Enablement

  • Partner with solution architects and developers to ensure feasibility and alignment.
  • Understand and articulate AI concepts (e.g., machine learning basics, generative AI use cases) and their impact on business processes.
  • Assist in evaluating AI tools and platforms for suitability and integration.

Project & Product Support

  • Support backlog grooming, sprint planning, and testing activities.
  • Track progress, manage dependencies, and escalate risks/issues as needed.
  • Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and stakeholder expectations.

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst, Product Owner, or Project Manager in technology-driven projects.
  • Strong technical aptitude; ability to understand system architecture, APIs, and integrations.
  • Familiarity with AI concepts and emerging technologies.
  • Excellent documentation skills (process flows, requirements, user stories).
  • Expertise in Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills for workshops and stakeholder sessions.
  • Experience with AI/ML projects, data analysis, or automation initiatives preferred.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and AI services.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, evolving environments and manage ambiguity.
  • Ability to work and deliver as a team.
  • Consulting experience and a proactive mindset.

Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For this position, the hourly pay range is $65 to $85/HR depending on experience. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The hourly pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
