Overview
We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer / Procedural Documentation Specialist to support a critical Credit Regulatory MRA (Matter Requiring Attention) initiative within the credit industry. This role will focus on documenting, standardizing, and remediating credit processes and procedures across wholesale credit functions, with an emphasis on underwriting guidelines and securities‑based lending.
This engagement addresses a significant documentation backlog created by the integration of multiple legacy banking platforms and processes, where formalized and regulator‑ready procedures are required by a defined regulatory deadline.

Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For this position, the base salary pay range is $50/hr to $65/hr. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the documentation and remediation of credit processes and procedures in response to a Regulatory MRA.
- Partner with credit, underwriting, risk, and compliance stakeholders to extract institutional knowledge and translate it into clear, regulator‑ready procedural documentation.
- Document underwriting guidelines for wholesale credit products, ensuring consistency, clarity, and auditability.
- Develop and standardize procedures related to securities‑based lending, including credit approval, monitoring, and exception handling.
- Review fragmented or undocumented processes resulting from legacy bank integrations, consolidating them into a single, coherent procedural framework.
- Ensure all documentation aligns with regulatory expectations, internal credit risk policies, and governance standards commonly found in formal Credit Administration and Risk Policy Manuals.
- Manage a large documentation backlog, prioritizing content based on regulatory risk and materiality.
- Produce deliverables suitable for regulatory review, internal audits, and ongoing operational use.
- 5+ years of experience as a Technical Writer, Procedural Writer, or Documentation Specialist in financial services.
- Demonstrated experience supporting credit, lending, or risk management functions within a banking or financial institution.
- Hands‑on experience documenting credit processes, underwriting standards, or loan lifecycle procedures.
- Strong understanding of wholesale credit environments.
- Experience working with or remediating Regulatory MRAs, Matters Requiring Attention, or audit findings.
- Ability to work with incomplete, undocumented, or inconsistent processes and bring structure and clarity.
- Proven ability to collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and translate complex workflows into clear procedural documentation.
- Direct experience with securities‑based lending documentation.
- Exposure to credit risk policy manuals, credit administration procedures, or loan governance frameworks.
- Experience in environments involving legacy bank mergers or platform consolidation.
- Familiarity with regulator‑facing documentation standards and audit expectations.
