Slalom is seeking a Data Experience Principal to help lead and grow our Data & Intelligence Practice. Principals build lasting relationships with business, technical, and vendor partner groups to help define outcome-driven modern data solutions that not only solve their most complex challenges but also unlock long-term strategic value. Successful Principals help our clients, and inspire our teams, to take on their biggest problems with human-centered, high-quality technology solutions. This individual will also work closely with the sales and delivery teams to drive sales and operations in a rapidly growing practice area.

For this role, we are hiring at the following levels and targeted base pay salary ranges: The targeted base salary pay range for this position is 150,000 to $180,000. In addition, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.

What You’ll Do
- Assess client business challenges and provide guidance and insight to ensure a best-fit technology solution.
- Collaborate with delivery managers to right-size the work effort required for a solution.
- Assist with estimating work efforts required for each phase of a project.
- Work with our highly skilled Slalom team to design and develop state-of-the-art outcomes.
- Mentor engineers, Slalom’s and client’s, in development best practices, design principles and advanced technologies
- Design, document and develop outstanding, modern applications using the full spectrum of technologies and design patterns.
- Create interactive dashboards and analytics solutions leveraging Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx and other advanced analytics technologies.
- Work on Proof-of-Concept projects with cutting-edge technologies.
- Provide technical & architectural guidance for various technology areas within data visualization and analytics engineering.
- Build at-scale production environments visualizing large and real-time data pipelines.
- Provide expertise in enhancing the interpretability and understandability of machine learning insights.
- Create functional and technical documentation related to Business Intelligence solutions.
- Deliver transformative solutions to clients that are aligned to industry best practices and provide thought leadership in data analytics space.
- Work with account and sales teams to manage the pre-sales process with clients and assist with closure of the deal.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in Information Management and Analytics, ideally within a consulting environment.
- 6+ years of experience with analytics and data visualization, implementing high-value solutions and admin activities across multi-environment infrastructure.
- Industry thought leadership recognition through awards, speaking engagements and/or publications.
- Proven experience mentoring, coaching, and developing consultants across a variety of skill levels.
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage high-performing teams and foster an inclusive, collaborative culture.
- Demonstrated success partnering with sales teams to drive sales, shape opportunities, define scopes, and create proposals/SOWs.
- Experience contributing to practice development, including capability building, offering development.
- Demonstrated ability to advise and influence senior executives, translating complex data concepts into clear business value.
- Experience leading large, cross-functional programs or multi-workstream data initiatives.
- Ability to identify and develop new opportunities within existing accounts.
- Comfortable presenting to clients during pre-sales cycles and leading solution discussions.
- Strong knowledge of design principles for data visualization and encoding data.
- Expert solution delivery using Tableau or Power BI.
- Experience on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Proficiency in SQL, Alteryx, Python, or similar product or language.
- Working knowledge of AI/ML concepts and their application in analytics solutions.
- Experience with various delivery methodologies and specifically Agile.
- Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional ability to creatively take on new challenges and work outside comfort zone.
- Enthusiasm to grow deep skill set in AI and be on path toward certifications.
- Strong written and oral communications along with presentation and interpersonal skills.
