Who You’ll Work With

At Slalom, personal connection meets global scale. Our vision is to enable a world in which everyone loves their work and life. We help organizations of all kinds redefine what’s possible, give shape to the future—and get there.

What You’ll Do

  • Product & Engineering Alignment: translate ambiguous business needs into structured data models, analytical frameworks, and engineering-ready requirements. This includes informing product roadmaps and advising on system design.
  • Geospatial Intelligence: bring strong geospatial expertise to aggregate and analyze global datasets into standardized spatial units (CLIO defined aggregation units) to understand capacity and demand across regions.
  • Capacity-Constrained Decisioning: focus on optimizing limited network capacity. Every commercial decision (e.g., onboarding customers) has downstream impacts on capacity availability, requiring tradeoff analysis.
  • Tooling & Platform Influence: advise on tooling fit, required features, and integration needs to ensure analysis outputs can be consumed within enterprise platforms and workflows.
  • Foundational Data Modeling: rationalize fragmented data sources and create a unified, scalable data model that supports both near real-time and forward-looking analysis.

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years in Data Science, Data Engineering, or a related role
  • Proven experience working with geospatial data and tools (e.g., ESRI, ArcGIS, Mapbox, PostGIS, GeoPandas)
  • Track record of partnering with product and engineering teams to deliver data-driven solutions
  • Strong proficiency in Python and/or SQL
  • Experience designing and implementing scalable data models and pipelines
  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, AWS, Azure)
  • Knowledge of geospatial analysis techniques, spatial indexing, and mapping system
  • Experience building models for forecasting, optimization, or constraint-based decisioning
  • Ability to translate business problems into quantitative frameworks and data requirements
