Our Northern California market is seeking a Client Partner to grow our Life Sciences portfolio across biopharma, medtech, and emerging life sciences organizations. This role sits at the center of a dynamic and expanding portfolio, partnering with executive stakeholders to drive growth, deepen relationships, and deliver meaningful outcomes.

You will operate as a senior client leader across a portfolio of accounts, balancing business development, account leadership, delivery oversight, and team leadership. This role may be hired at the Senior Principal or Director level.

This role is based in San Francisco and requires candidates to be located in the San Francisco Bay Area.

What You’ll Do

  • Own and grow a portfolio of Life Sciences clients in the Northern California market, including a mix of existing accounts and net-new opportunities
  • Build and maintain trusted executive relationships, acting as a strategic advisor to client leaders across R&D, Commercial, Patient Engagement, and Operations
  • Drive business development activities including opportunity identification, shaping, SOW creation, and deal closure
  • Expand Slalom’s footprint by identifying and converting opportunities into multi-year, multi-engagement relationships
  • Develop and execute account strategies that drive measurable business outcomes and long-term client value
  • Provide executive oversight and governance across all sold and managed engagements to ensure delivery excellence
  • Partner across Slalom practices (Data, Technology, Strategy, and Organizational Effectiveness) to bring integrated solutions to clients
  • Maintain strong awareness of Life Sciences industry trends, including regulatory, clinical, commercial, and digital transformation priorities
  • Lead and mentor engagement teams, typically ranging from 3–15 practitioners, fostering high performance and strong team culture
  • Contribute to Life Sciences portfolio strategy and broader NorCal market growth priorities
  • Revenue responsibility: ~$2M–$6M+ portfolio ownership, depending on level and portfolio maturity
  • Utilization target: ~40%–60% individual utilization, with accountability for overall team utilization and margin
  • Growth expectations: Demonstrated ability to expand existing accounts while opening new client relationships

What You’ll Bring

  • Prior consulting experience with external clients (large consultancy or boutique firm), with a focus on Life Sciences
  • Strong network within Life Sciences clients in the Northern California market
  • Proven ability to build executive-level relationships and operate as a trusted advisor
  • Demonstrated success in business development, from early prospecting through deal closure
  • Experience leading complex consulting engagements and ensuring delivery excellence
  • Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities across sales, delivery, and team leadership

Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For this role, we are hiring at the following levels and targeted base pay salary ranges: The targeted base salary pay range for a Senior Principal is $171,000 to $257,000 and for Director is $195,000 to $293,000. In addition, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
