Job Summary
Serves as a subject-matter-expert, thought leader and solution architect in Treasury Management primarily focused on payments, payables and receivables. This role is closely aligned with both the Treasury Management Sales team (70%) and the Treasury Management Product Management team (30%).
Sales Alignment
Identifies and provides solutions for complex payables and/or receivables designed to improve customer processes and financial metrics (DSO, DPO). Drives Treasury Management product sales in partnership with the Treasury Management sales team to meet and exceed team-based financial sales/revenue goals. Partners with Treasury Management sales and product teams and other LOB partners, and the customer to bring deals to close. Understands customer challenges and can clearly articulate Synovus's strategy through the delivery of our value proposition while highlighting the value realization to the customer by moving to Synovus Treasury Management solutions and showcasing tangible business benefits. Serves as a trusted advisor and some times mentor to the sales team on these complex solutions, providing messaging that drives deep discovery into the as-is state and pain points of the customer, as well as customer business processes and practices. Provides advice on best practices, treasury and payments trends and process improvements around payables, receivables, payments to the customer including at senior levels such as CFOs and Treasurers.
Product Management Alignment
Works closely with Treasury Management product management teams to share the voice of the customer, participate in new or modified product requirements, identify product gaps, ideation, participation in and feedback on new product/new vendor demonstrations and special projects. This may include product testing, migration related preparation, business case development, go to market activities, identifying pilot or early adopter customers, pricing/re-pricing recommendations. Primary products/product sets include: wires, ACH, real-time/instant payments for both B2B and B2C use-cases, integrated payables/payments, integrated receivables, information reporting, customized information reporting, ""customer connectivity"" products for ERP and TMS integration by file transmission, API and ERP-specific product integrations, as well as new initiatives such as payment hubs, fraud mitigation tools, virtual accounts and cash forecasting."
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Leads deal team efforts for complex sales opportunities, partnering with TM sales consultants and relationship managers to identify potential areas of opportunity, assists or leads the strategic messaging to the customer regarding industry insights, best practices and way to manage pain points and improve financials. Architects the solution for the customer and dives into technical aspects of the solutions as needed.
- Assesses and validates client business needs, including current process and future desired process, through a consultative evaluation and/or business process review in conjunction with a Treasury Management sales team.
- Develops complete customer solution recommendation for supported complex products. Strategizes and implements technology and process change working collaboratively with business leaders to align technology to organizational strategies and objectives. Documents detailed tasks to include technical components for on-boarding teams.
- Communicates customer requirements to on-boarding team, technology groups, and product management as required.
- Provides detailed hand-off of requirements to on-boarding team and ensures requirements are fulfilled.
- Participates in implementation kickoff meetings to ensure a smooth transition and a detailed understanding of the sale is gained all participants.
- Provides leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/enhancements. Provides voice of customer to product management team. Consults with product management and operations to identify potential product enhancements and advance new product ideas. Participates in new or modified product requirements, ideation, and special projects and meetings related to new or modified products.
- Supports sales events and trade shows as requested.
- Provides subject-matter-expertise and remains current on internal and external Treasury and Payment developments, trends and innovations for supported products and emerging technologies. Helps to tell the bank's innovation and transformation stories.
- Focuses internal and external conversation on industry changes, business issues, best practices and benchmarking. Understands what is changing, but possesses sufficient industry knowledge to make suggestions and recommendations.
- Provide product training and updates to TM sales consultants and LOB partners on industry/solutions. Training conducted including product/solution demonstrations via webinar and in-person.
- Serves in the role of team lead/player-coach to orient, mentor, train or review the work of less experienced Treasury Management sales and product management teams.
- Travels to customer meetings/events and trade-shows/conferences required - up to 35%. Takes active role as a thought leader speaking at bank and industry events. Develops content for presentations at these events.
- Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion.

Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science/Information Technology, Marketing or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum Experience:
Eight (8) years of experience in treasury and payment services and/or commercial banking or corporate treasury.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Highly refined skills in speaking, writing, and presenting complex technical and financial concepts and information
- Expert technical process knowledge of receivables (AR), payments/disbursements (AP) activity, their related exception handling and best practices, treasury management (cash positioning, cash forecasting) and advanced account structures, and Treasury Management products and solutions
- Proficient in solution-based consultative selling
- Proficiency using complex software-based, browser-based, and mobile-based solutions
- Business level understanding of accounting, treasury and cash management, and working capital needs
- Familiarity with corporate Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and Treasury Management Systems (TMS) including integration of information reporting and payment initiation and reconciliation
- Skill assessing customer needs with active dialog, listening, and analytical acumen
- Comfortable discussing data file standards, file format, field mapping, and transmissions related to disbursements and remittance processing and transmission-based reporting
- Comfortable discussing the realm of emerging technology including APIs, AI/ML, RPA, Blockchain, Cryptocurrency and Cybersecurity/Fraud Mitigation.
- Demonstrated project management and organizational skills
- Understanding of modern banking, treasury and fintech platforms, file formats including CSV, XML, BAI, EDI, ISO 20022 and API concepts.
- Effective in a variety of formal presentation settings: one-on-one, small and large groups, with peers, direct reports, and manager; is effective both inside and outside the organization, on both cold data and hot and controversial topics; commands attention and can manage group process during the presentation; can change tactics midstream when something isn't working.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
