Job Summary

The Finance Analyst Development Program (FDAP) at Synovus is a two-year rotational experience designed to develop future leaders in finance. Participants will support key areas of the enterprise—Strategic Finance, Treasury, and Corporate Development—by performing financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting. Analysts will assist in producing financial statements, evaluating performance trends, and preparing strategic insights that influence decision-making across the organization. This hybrid program offers mentorship, professional development, and exposure to high-impact projects that shape the financial direction of the company.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct ad hoc financial analyses to support short- and long-term strategic decisions.
  • Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
  • Generate forecasts and analyze trends in revenue, expenses, and other financial metrics.
  • Research and analyze financial indicators such as rates of return, depreciation, and investment performance.
  • Prepare and maintain organizational, business unit, and departmental budgets.
  • Support balance sheet and income forecasting across various finance functions.
  • Collaborate with Treasury to analyze capital adequacy, liquidity, and interest rate risk.
  • Assist Corporate Development in evaluating mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
  • Contribute to Investor Relations presentations and strategic communications.
  • Participate in two 12-month hybrid rotations across Strategic Finance, Treasury, and Corporate Development.
  • Engage with employee resource groups and community outreach initiatives.
  • Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA 3.0 or above

Minimum Experience:

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with co-workers on various levels.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Excel and other MS Office products.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of enterprise planning systems and relationship pricing models.
