Job Summary:
Responsible for the management of a portfolio of professional and executive accounts and the development of new professional and executive banking relationships. Clients will typically be commercial customers, small business customers, and higher-end consumer customers (physicians, attorneys, dentists, CPAs, veterinarians, corporate executives, affluent business owners, affluent retirees, inheritance beneficiaries, etc.) that require more complex product delivery. Coordinates relevant and related client service activities with other areas of the organization, providing a range of fee and credit-related products and services.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develops and manages complex, full-service, integrated client relationships for the private wealth management group. Oversees a loan portfolio of professional and executive accounts and facilitates financing initiatives.
  • Develops solutions to fulfill the unique needs of existing and prospective clients; leverages financial planning services on behalf of client when appropriate; participates in providing advice and counsel, as relevant, in areas of private banking, personal trust, investments, and estate and retirement planning.
  • Manages the holistic relationship with clients, ensuring quality service, and building profitability by keeping clients informed of, and recommending as appropriate, new products and services suited to their needs.
  • Coordinates with other company specialists for further advice and service implementation, thereby building a referral network to ensure all bank products/services are being presented and utilized in the best interest of the customer.
  • Presents multiple alternative resource solutions for a variety of personal or business situations.
  • Actively and positively participates in team interactions, partnering with bank financial consultants, mortgage originators, and other FMS resources on behalf of client.
  • Analyzes financial and credit needs of the customer and provides recommendations of appropriate company products/services.
  • May analyze economic and industry market trend data to identify potential client business opportunities and minimize high-risk situations.
  • May approve loans and terms within authorized limits, conferring with management on larger or more complex loans; monitors existing loan portfolios to detect development of unfavorable trends and ensure conformity with terms.
  • Stays actively involved in the community, networking to identify and capitalize on new business development opportunities.
  • Has new business development goals and responsibility and manages income and expenses to budget expectations; aspires to highest regulatory ratings; meets all compliance requirements.
  • Typically focuses majority of time on core banking activities (administrative, regulatory, transactional) while engaging in full relationship management to deepen customer loyalty within the entire Synovus family.
  • May orient, train and review the work of less experienced Professional - Executive Bankers.
  • Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related discipline

Minimum Experience: 8+ years job specific experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Thorough understanding of key planning issues affecting affluent and high net worth individuals
  • Advanced knowledge of investments and financial markets
  • Strong lending and credit experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively and ask difficult personal questions
  • Advanced knowledge of retail banking operational policies, Federal, State and other banking regulations and compliance requirements
  • Advanced knowledge of banking products including lending, deposits and investment areas
  • Proficient in related banking software and Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated competency and experience in developing solutions to problems of diverse scope and complexity
  • Certification(s): Series 7; Series 66 (or both Series 63 and 65) Licenses; Variable Annuity License; State, Life, Accident and Sickness License (or working to obtain within 6 months of assuming role) This position requires successful registration and issuance of a unique identification number from the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) in compliance with the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (SAFE ACT). Registration must be accomplished within an established timeframe after initial employment and includes a nationwide finger print check.
