Job Summary:
Performs financial analysis and credit review of larger and more complex Dual Risk Rated (DRR) commercial loans. Performs research and financial and statistical analyses to determine and support client credit worthiness while minimizing risk exposure. Works closely with commercial lenders and underwriters to ensure accurate grading and spreading of financial statements. Performs financial spreads for prospects not requiring risk ratings. Performs due diligence for Merger and Acquisition (M&A) related to the scoring of the target firm's larger commercial loans. Prepares analyses, reports and presentations for management review and regulatory reporting. Ensures transactions and processing are in compliance with regulatory and firm guidelines, policies and procedures. Participates in and may lead day-to-day operations and special projects and completes formal credit and other required training courses. Assists in training and mentoring new team members.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Performs financial analysis and credit review of Dual Risk Rated (DRR) commercial loans focusing on clients with complex statements or relationships. Requires minimal guidance or oversight.
  • Performs analyses of statistical data and financial statements as well as sensitivity and guarantor analyses. Utilizes scorecards in the Moody's application to generate probability of default (PD) and loss given default (LGD).
  • Collects "due diligence" materials necessary for credit reviews and risk rating analyses from bank or credit personnel.
  • Provides analytical support for developing and maintaining credit studies, financial background information and other relevant data on present and prospective clients.
  • Assists with ongoing projects including credit servicing, internal and external audits, and federal regulatory exams. Performs portfolio due diligence for Merger and Acquisition (M&A) activity related to the scoring of the target firm's larger commercial loans. Capability of taking the lead on major projects (i.e., upgrades, due diligence, exams, training) with significant impact to the department and/or the bank.
  • Monitors risk rating related reports including DRR exceptions and work flow volumes. Prepares validations of DRR results on an as needed basis for internal and external auditors/examiners.
  • Assists with the development and maintenance of management reporting systems that provide an accurate and readily available reference library of loan portfolios, clients current and historical data, and reports.
  • Ensures all prepared and submitted support documentation are in compliance with the firm's record retention policy.
  • Identifies and represents a clear focus on merits, risks and mitigating factors accordingly.
  • Follows standard operating procedures when preparing analyses, reports, and presentations for management review. Performs accurate spreading of historical financial statements.
  • Ensures each step of the process is in compliance with all firm and regulatory guidelines, policies, procedures and methodology. Stays abreast of variations in laws across state boundaries as applicable.
  • Assists in the training of new DRR team members and leading group training, as requested.
  • Owns and monitors assigned reports on an ongoing basis to support internal controls.
  • Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Firm authority in a timely fashion.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum Experience:Four years of relevant banking experience or proven record of extensive knowledge of C&I and IPRE processes including analyzing and interpreting corporate financial statements and tax returns, and preparing supporting documentation. Regular office environment;
