The Middleware & Database Product Line Director is accountable for leading Truist Middleware & Database Strategy, Engineering and Operations functions utilizing a blended matrix model. This leader is directly accountable for all development, delivery, and management of Truist enterprise middleware & database products and solutions through the entire lifecycle of ideation to sunset. This leader must collaborate with cross-functional teams (DCIO, Business, Risk, Cyber, Cloud, etc) as well as support organizations (HR, finance, etc) to define product requirements, drive product innovation & optimization to ensure the delivery of secure resilient application consumable solutions to our customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the multitude of enterprise/cloud-based middleware & database products, along with the business operations required to support a large financial institution. The candidate must have a strong security, product management focus with a passion for delivering innovative solutions to address the evolving cybersecurity landscape. This leader will be responsible for management of multi-million-dollar enterprise partnerships with vendors, that help enable and deliver our solutions. This leader must be the ‘general manager’ for Truist Enterprise Middleware & Database capability which will require direct and matrix leadership of large enterprise-wide teams, along with deep technical and business acumen.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Provide executive leadership for all Middleware & Database functions and business unit budget management.
2. Define the enterprise middleware & database vision, strategy, and roadmap for Truist products and solutions.
3. Develop P+L for the products within the product line in partnership with finance. Define critical metrics that define success of the products.
4. Identify and drive key metrics and industry benchmarks for the products and services to ensure stable, cost effective and secure products and services.
5. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and prioritize business requirements, considering security, usability, and customer needs.
6. Drive product innovation and differentiation by staying abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and customer feedback.
7. Work closely with business, DCIO, risk and cyber partners to develop go-to-market strategies, positioning, and messaging for infrastructure products.
8. Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for product enhancements and new features to enable business strategies.
9. Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and key stakeholders to gather insights and feedback to determine business unit performance and NPS scores.
10. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to middleware & database platforms and data protection.
11. Provide mentorship & development across the networking domain at Truist to ensure a collaborative, growth-oriented environment with career progression and well thought out succession planning.


QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related field
2. Minimum of 20 years of experience in leading global scale middleware & database domains at large enterprises, with a focus on secure products and solutions
3. Minimum of 10 years of executive leadership with direct multi-million-dollar budget accountability.
4. Strong understanding of data center and large-scale enterprise hosting & virtualization platforms
5. Strong understanding of infrastructure-as-code requirements for data center automation & API development for application consumers
6. Proven track record of successfully managing the development and launch of direct to consumer products or solutions
7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate customer needs into actionable product requirements
8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
9. Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and product management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence) is a plus
