The Software Engineer contributes to the design, development, and delivery of enterprise platform capabilities that enable standardized, secure, and scalable software delivery across the organization. This role focuses on building reusable platform services, automation frameworks, and integration patterns aligned to platform strategy.As a hands-on engineer, this role develops and enhances self-service developer experiences, CI/CD automation, and policy-driven governance capabilities. The engineer helps teams onboard and deliver services efficiently while adhering to enterprise engineering standards enforced through platform capabilities rather than manual processes.
Working closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams, this role contributes to platform patterns such as golden repositories, integration contracts, observability frameworks, and event-driven services that improve consistency, reduce risk, and accelerate software delivery.

This position is office-centric 5 days a week in one of our Truist hub locations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Independently designs, develops, tests, and maintains complex software components and services addressing business and user requirements.
2. Implements advanced features and enhancements using established coding standards, architectural patterns, and development best practices.
3. Leads code reviews and provides constructive feedback to ensure code quality, maintainability, and performance.
4. Collaborates with cross-functional technical teams to plan and execute technical initiatives, ensuring timely delivery of solutions.
5. Troubleshoots, debugs, and resolves complex software defects and production issues, applying root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
6. Participates actively in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design discussions, development, testing, deployment, and support.
7. Applies secure coding practices, testing strategies, and documentation standards to ensure software quality and compliance with organizational guidelines.
8. Mentors and supports junior engineers to foster technical growth and adherence to best practices.
9. Utilizes and contributes to existing frameworks, tools, and technologies to enhance application development across relevant technology domains.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field with 5 years of relevant experience or equivalent education and training.
2. In-depth knowledge of information systems and ability to identify, apply, and implement IT best practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience building or contributing to platform engineering solutions, including shared services, internal developer tools, or reusable frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-native development, containers, and Kubernetes/OpenShift environments.
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices, including automated testing, security scanning, and deployment workflows.
- Exposure to policy-as-code frameworks and policy engines (e.g., OPA/Rego or similar) and an understanding of how automated policies enforce governance and compliance.
- Experience developing automation and self-service capabilities, including templates, reusable pipelines, or onboarding workflows.
- Understanding of event-driven architectures and messaging platforms (e.g., Kafka or similar).
- Familiarity with observability practices, including logging, metrics, and tracing using tools such as Prometheus, Splunk, or OpenTelemetry.
- Exposure to enterprise integration patterns and API design, including REST-based services and API governance.
- Experience with integration platforms or API management solutions, with MuleSoft platform experience considered a plus.
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code and automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, or similar).
- Experience working in Agile development environments and collaborative, cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to contribute to shared platform standards and reusable engineering patterns.
- Advanced degree (e.g., Master’s or MBA) in a related field.
