Job Description

This role is responsible for executing a comprehensive engineering process to evaluate customers’ petroleum reserves in support of Reserve Based Lending (RBL). The successful candidate will apply strong technical expertise to assess collateral value and identify potential risks, contributing to the accuracy and efficiency of the lending process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely completion of engineering evaluations.
  • Conduct engineering and economic assessments of oil and gas assets for RBL purposes.
  • Prepare detailed narrative engineering reports and supporting documentation.
  • Communicate regularly with internal stakeholders and external clients regarding technical matters.
  • Generate internal reports related to oil and gas portfolio performance and risk.
  • Follow established credit policies and due diligence procedures.
  • Analyze and present oil and gas cash flow projections.
  • Utilize engineering software (e.g., ARIES, PHDWin) to model reserves and forecast production.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of engineering methodologies to improve processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.S. Petroleum Engineering.
  • 10+ years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Experience and understanding of discounted cash flows and cash flow modeling.
  • Strong Aries experience is required.
  • Strong Microsoft Access and Excel skills; Excel modeling experience required.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Advanced knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends that impact their assigned line of business.
  • Advanced understanding of the business line’s operations, products/services, systems, and associated risks/controls.
  • Thorough knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies.
  • Ability to act with a high degree of independence.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills. Self-motivated with a high level of individual initiative.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to make technically and economically sound recommendations with limited information.
  • Excellent time management skills with ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office, SLQ, Python, and PowerBI Technologies.
  • Applicable professional certifications.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $139,230.00 - $163,800.00
