Job Description
U.S. Bank is seeking a motivated Business Systems Consultant with liaison and relationship management experience to contribute toward the success of our technology initiatives. This role is responsible for maintaining the operational integrity, accuracy, and performance of the ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB) through effective use of the ServiceNow Discovery Admin Tool and related modules. The position focuses on ensuring the health, completeness, and compliance of configuration items (CIs) and discovery data across the enterprise. This includes monitoring discovery jobs, resolving errors, maintaining CI relationships, and collaborating with engineering and infrastructure teams to drive continuous data quality improvements that support audit, risk, and regulatory requirements.

Core Responsibilities
- Discovery Administration
- Administer, configure, and monitor the ServiceNow Discovery Admin Tool, including schedules, probes, patterns, and credentials
- Troubleshoot and resolve discovery errors, ensuring discovered data accurately populates the CMDB
- Collaborate with network and infrastructure teams to maintain connectivity and successful discovery runs
- Validate discovery result and reconcile discovered data with source systems
- CMDB Health & Data Quality Operations
- Maintain and continuously improve CI health, including validation of completeness, correctness, and compliance with governance standards
- Monitor and remediate stale CIs, ensuring attributes are current and reflect actual operational state
- Oversee CI compatibility across parent-child relationships, lifecycle alignment, and supported models
- Manage data staleness metrics, implementing routines to identify and cleanse aged or orphaned Cis
- Evaluate CI relationships and dependency mappings for accuracy to support incident, change, and asset management
- Partner with engineering and asset teams to maintain alignment between discovered data, inventory system, and procurement records.
- Track and report on data normalization, completeness, and relationship health KPIs
- Reporting and Analytics
- Develop and maintain CMDB health dashboard and report, highlighting key performance indicators (e.g., CI completeness, discovery coverage, staleness, accuracy).
- Analyze and present data trends to identify areas for improvement and automation opportunities
- Support audit and regulatory inquiries (e.g., MRAs, SIIs, etc.) by providing data and evidence of discovery and CMDB integrity
- Operational Excellence
- Drive operational monitoring processes to sustain CMDB accuracy and quality over time
- Ensure discovery schedules, data reconciliation, and CI updates are executed according to SLAs
- Participate in and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, automation efforts, and process standardization.
- Document procedures, control, and workflows for discovery, CI management, and CMDB health processes
Required Technical Skills
- Hands-on experience with the ServiceNow Discovery Admin Tool (patterns, probes, sensors, schedules, credentials)
- Deep understanding of CMDB architecture, class structures, relationships, dependencies, and reconciliation rules
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure and networking (e.g., IP subnets, DNS, routing, VLANS, firewall rules, connectivity impacts on discovery)
- Experience in database analysis (ability to read, query, and interpret SQL or ServiceNow tables)
- Familiarity with ServiceNow CMDB Health Dashboard, CMDB Workspace, and Discovery Health Indicators
- Proficiency in data analytics and reporting tools such as ServiceNow Performance Analytics, Power BI, Excel
- Working knowledge of ServiceNow HAM Pro and SAM Pro modules and how they relate to the CMDB
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- At least 10 years experience with activities, tasks, practices and deliverables for assessing and documenting business opportunities, benefits, risks, and success factors of potential applications.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $119,765.00 - $140,900.00U.S. Bank will consider qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records for employment.
