Job Description
The Operations Business Analyst is a technical resource supporting several of our Large Market Accounts. As a member of the dynamic Business Analyst Team, the Business Analyst is a subject matter expert in Analytics and Reporting (BI), Report Training, Database Management, KPI/Metrics, Root Cause Analysis, EDI/File Management, Chart of Accounts/GL Coding, and advanced Business Rules.
The Business Analyst will be required to master our freight payment software application (Syncada) and reporting tool (Cognos). This position will interface with internal support groups including Production, Data Exchange and Product Development to manage software application issues, service requests, troubleshooting, product enhancements and testing. Additionally, this position will evaluate processes/procedures and manage process improvement initiatives.
The Business Analyst will play a vital role in providing world-class service and support to our Freight Payment Customers.
The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.
Duties & Responsibilities
Provide technical assistance/expertise within the customer support team
Responsible for understanding the business needs of customers to help identify issues, focus on root cause analysis and propose solutions for resolution
Foster collaborative, cross-functional, creative environment within Business Analyst Group
Continuous improvement projects to reduce manual/inefficient processes
Analyze financial metrics to determine opportunities for continuous/process improvement
Participate in all phases of the development lifecycle; including requirements gathering, building, testing, client approval, implementation and documentation
Manage system applications and process including file research, data content issues, EDI on-boarding, etc.
Training of internal and external parties on processes and applications
Maintain and distribute customer dashboards
Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) – manage to objectives and targets set by AM
Process analysis and improvement – Review exception rates and suggest business rule changes
Special projects as assigned
Execute ad-hoc report requests through reporting tool (Cognos)
Communication with customer contacts and internal team members
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
Typically four or more years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications
Supply Chain or Financial/Freight Payment experience a plus
Strong technical skills, including experience working with software applications
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Word
Data reporting and analysis experience
Experience with large databases a plus
Proven problem solving, root cause analysis and solution design skills
Strong written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrates composure and professionalism in high-pressure situations
Excellent organization and prioritization abilities
Self-starter and flexible
Works well in team environment
Proven customer service skills

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $75,905.00 - $89,300.00U.S. Bank will consider qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records for employment.
