Job Description

U.S. Bank is seeking a full-time Software Engineer - Distributed Software Systems (Multiple openings) in Minneapolis, MN. The Software Engineer – Distributed Software Systems (multiple openings) is responsible for the design, implementation, development, deployment and maintenance of Small Business management System. This role performs design and development of highly scalable distributed system and onboarding new features like Employee management, Payroll management, etc. to the platform. Specific duties include: (1) build and implement high quality distributed system software; (2) participate in code reviews and operational excellence of the platform; (3) interact with team to elicit architectural and non-functional requirements including performance, scalability, reliability and maintainability; (4) design and implement large-scale distributed system for small business management applications with high availability involving multi-region setup utilizing cloud platform including AWS and involves encryption of payloads in transit; (5) participate in code reviews of smb (small business management) team members, providing feedback to follow best practices and operational excellence of the platform which reduces the operational and maintenance activity of developers; (6) Implement multiple applications in small business management using Java, Spring, Oracle SQL, MongoDB, Maven, Git, Rancher, and Jenkins; (7) design and develop large-scale, multitiered, multi-threaded, distributed software systems for small business management system, using Object Oriented Design, Java, AWS (Amazon Web Services) Cloud services and utilize event-driven architecture and batch processing the workflows; and (8) design and develop relational data model for the persisting data of Small Business Management System which are utilized by online banking users and for analytics needs.

Basic Qualifications:

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science and Engineering, or Computer Science and 5 years of experience (progressive, post-baccalaureate) implementing large-scale distributed system for small business management applications.

Required Skills/Experience:
Must also have 24 months of experience with each of the following: (1) design and implement large-scale distributed system for small business management applications with high availability involving multi-region setup utilizing cloud platform including AWS and involves encryption of payloads in transit; (2) participate in code reviews of smb (small business management) team members, providing feedback to follow best practices and operational excellence of the platform which reduces the operational and maintenance activity of developers; (3) implement multiple applications in small business management using Java, Spring, Oracle SQL, MongoDB, Maven, Git, Rancher, and Jenkins; (4) design and develop large-scale, multitiered, multi-threaded, distributed software systems for small business management system, using Object Oriented Design, Java, AWS (Amazon Web Services) Cloud services and utilize event-driven architecture and batch processing the workflows; and (5) design and develop relational data model for the persisting data of Small Business Management System which are utilized by online banking users and for analytics needs. Employer will accept experience gained concurrently. Telecommuting available from anywhere in US. HQ at 800 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis, MN 55402. This position is with Talech, Inc., a U.S. Bank company. Base pay range may vary if an offer is made for work in a different location. Pay Range: $145,018 - $155,000. U.S. Bank is subject to and conducts background checks consistent with the regulatory requirements applicable to our industry and operations.
