Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and analytical individual to join the Institutional Client Group (ICG) as a Business Strategy Consultant. In this role, you will support strategic projects and initiatives that help shape our business and respond to evolving client needs. You’ll work closely with senior team members to gather data, conduct research, and contribute insights that inform business decisions. This position is ideal for someone eager to develop expertise in strategy, analytics, and cross-functional collaboration within a dynamic, growth-focused environment.
STRATEGIC PLANNING & EXECUTION
Assist in the development and execution of business plans and strategic priorities, working collaboratively with senior colleagues to drive revenue growth, efficiency, and market competitiveness.
Compile high-impact presentations that synthesize strategic insights, cross functional input, and business performance data for executive-level audiences and stakeholder engagement.
Support the creation, coordination, and implementation of cross functional sales enablement programs by identifying areas for improvement and helping to develop solutions that align with business goals.
Contribute to strategic initiatives aimed at improving customer acquisition, segmentation, retention, and satisfaction, balancing risk and profitability under guidance from senior team members.
Participate in working groups and project teams to help deliver on strategic plans, ensuring accountability for assigned tasks and deadlines.
Assist with the quarterly strategic business review process by coordinating inputs, preparing reports/presentations, and supporting continuous improvement efforts.
Develop and maintain structured trackers to monitor progress, ensure accountability, and keep strategic initiatives organized and on track.
RESEARCH & ANALYSIS
Conduct research and analysis to anticipate market trends and opportunities, providing actionable insights that support the overall ICG strategy.
Gather and interpret data from various sources to inform strategic decisions and help communicate business needs and opportunities.
Collaborate with the CAO/Business Performance Team, Finance and other teams to understand headcount trends and their impact on business goals.
Help develop and maintain dashboards, KPIs, and metrics to monitor business performance and identify areas for improvement.
Synthesize market and competitive information to support revenue growth, investment, or operational enhancements, under the direction of senior team members.
Conduct competitive intelligence to identify market trends, benchmark performance, and uncover strategic opportunities that inform business planning and decision-making.
COLLABORATION & STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT
Partner with with cross-functional teams (Finance, Operations, Product, Sales, Payments, Consumer) to ensure strategic initiatives are aligned with business objectives and interconnected across functions to drive cohesive execution and shared outcomes.
Present findings and strategic recommendations to team members and stakeholders, fostering collaboration across cross-functional groups.
INNOVATION & BEST PRACTICES
Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes, sharing relevant insights with the team.
Support the implementation of best practices in strategy and initiative deployment, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS
7-10+ years of experience in banking, finance, consulting, or a related field.
Experience working in teams or supporting projects within a business environment.
Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, economics, or a related discipline; advanced degree or relevant coursework is a plus but not required.
Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively, demonstrate initiative, and adapt to changing priorities.
Familiarity with business functions and processes; willingness to learn and grow in the role.
SPECIFIC SKILLS
Data Analysis & Visualization: Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, or similar tools for analyzing and presenting business data.
Research: Ability to conduct market, competitor, and internal research to support strategic recommendations.
Project Coordination: Experience supporting project teams, tracking deliverables, and meeting deadlines.
Communication: Skilled in preparing reports, presentations, and communicating findings to diverse audiences.
Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to approach challenges analytically and propose practical solutions.
Collaboration: Comfortable working across functions and with stakeholders at various levels.
Adaptability: Willingness to learn new concepts, tools, and adapt to changing business needs.
Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and accuracy in work products.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $126,820.00 - $149,200.00U.S. Bank will consider qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records for employment.
