The Asset Management Group Chief Investment Officer (CIO) is a key executive responsible for shaping and executing the investment strategy for U.S. Bank Wealth Management. This role provides visionary leadership across portfolio management, research, and product development, ensuring alignment with client objectives and regulatory standards. The CIO serves as a public-facing thought leader, elevating U.S. Bank’s investment capabilities and driving innovation to meet the evolving needs of high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define and lead investment strategy across Wealth Management, ensuring consistent execution and risk management

  • Oversee all portfolio management activities and investment policy development

  • Drive product innovation and research to address client needs and market opportunities

  • Collaborate with senior leaders across Wealth Management and Asset Management to deliver integrated solutions

  • Represent U.S. Bank externally through media engagement, industry forums, and client events

  • Participate in select client and prospect discussions to articulate investment philosophy and capabilities

  • Lead investment committees and maintain awareness of emerging strategies and market trends

  • Manage capital and expense budgets for the investment function

PREFERRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven track record of leadership in investment management within a wealth management or private banking environment

  • Deep expertise in portfolio construction, asset allocation, and investment strategy

  • Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements

  • Exceptional communication skills, including media and public speaking experience

  • Ability to lead through influence in a matrixed organization and develop high-performing teams

  • Advanced degree and/or CFA designation strongly preferred

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $274,295.00 - $322,700.00
