Job Description

The Head of Strategy - Digital Assets and Money Movement is a senior strategic and operational leader responsible for driving the success of U.S. Bank’s new Digital Assets and Money Movement organization. This leader will partner closely with the EVP and executive stakeholders to shape and execute the enterprise digital asset strategy, oversee business operations, and ensure alignment with regulatory, financial, and organizational goals. The role is pivotal in accelerating innovation, operationalizing new capabilities, and supporting the bank’s evolution in blockchain, cryptocurrency, stablecoin, and tokenization products.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Strategic & Operational Leadership

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the EVP and leadership team on priorities, execution plans, and cross-functional alignment for digital assets and money movement.
  • Translate the organization’s vision and strategy into operational plans with clear metrics, reporting, and accountability.
  • Oversee execution of enterprise-wide digital asset initiatives across business units and enabling functions.
  • Lead the development and ongoing refinement of the digital asset product platform and roadmap.

Business Operations & Governance

  • Partner with Digital Operations to manage organizational processes, including budget planning, vendor management, procurement, and administrative functions.
  • Lead governance operations, including agenda setting, documentation, and follow-ups for digital asset councils, steering committees, and stakeholder forums.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise policies, regulatory requirements, and internal controls for digital assets and blockchain products.

Financial Management

  • Partner with Finance to manage the organization’s annual budget and forecasting processes.
  • Track financial performance and resource allocation across digital asset programs, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Monitor ROI and cost-efficiency of digital asset investments and platforms.

Communications & Change Management

  • Drive internal and external communication strategies to promote the organization’s mission, successes, and roadmap.
  • Develop change management strategies for digital asset initiatives to support adoption and cultural alignment.
  • Create and distribute executive-ready communications, status updates, and dashboards.

Program Management Office (PMO) Oversight

  • Lead the program/project management office to ensure timely and efficient delivery of key digital asset initiatives.
  • Standardize program governance, reporting, and escalation processes.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between product teams, business lines, and IT.

PREFERRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA or Masters in related field.
  • Experience in highly regulated environments (e.g., financial services, healthcare, etc.) a plus.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Finance, or related field.
  • 10–15+ years of experience in enterprise operations, digital asset or payments governance, or large-scale program management.
  • Proven experience supporting C-suite executives and leading enterprise functions.
  • Deep understanding of digital assets, blockchain, payments, and digital transformation in large organizations.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience with budget management.
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills.
  • Experience in highly regulated environments (e.g., financial services, healthcare, etc.) a plus.
  • Travel required approximately 10-15% within the United States.
  • This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $164,390.00 - $193,400.00
