Job Description

U.S. Bank is seeking the position of Automation Engineer in Englewood, Colorado.

Essential Responsibilities:

Job Duties: The Automation Engineer is responsible for problem solving and tracking defects in the system; identifying, analyzing, and documenting problems with program function, output, online screen, or content; evaluating or recommending software for testing or bug tracking; documenting software defects, using the recommended bug tracking system, and report defects to software developers; planning test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates; designing or developing automated testing tools, programs that address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retests, or usability; documenting test procedures to ensure replicability and compliance with standards; developing or specifying standards, methods, or procedures to determine product quality or release readiness; reviewing software documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, or completeness, or to mitigate risks; testing, creating, implementing and supporting robotics process and desktop automations; designing, scripting, testing, implementing, maintaining and modifying automations of moderate complexity, significance, and risk; participating in creating, designing and executing manual comprehensive test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures, and test cases using the Cucumber and Karate API Framework; providing test estimates and defining time tables and project tasks; updating automated test scripts to ensure currency; defining automation data needs across systems and creating a plan to coordinate this test data; automating the test cases for performance testing by using JMeter to ensure the expected automation performance levels are achieved; collaborating with cross-functional project teams to understand API requirements and solutions and defining detailed API test strategies; timely reporting of test status to the test lead; conducting historical analyses of test results; performing and leading clients and technical staff to investigate, analyze, and resolve technical problems; writing documentation that describes automation capabilities and operating procedures; conducting analysis of organizational needs for the creation and implementation of automation solutions; participating in feasibility assessments of new automation opportunities and helps determine best approach for automation; participating in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems; providing feedback and recommendations to developers on software usability and functionality. Position may allow working from home within commuting distance of worksite location. Multiple Positions.

Basic Qualifications:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science plus 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience as an Automation Engineer or Quality Automation Engineer.

Required Skills/Experience:
Must possess 5 years of experience with each of the following: Agile software development lifecycle; Software quality testing of web client / server and web services applications using manual and automation test tools; Work with agile methodology; Work with functional testing and automation testing; Prepare and execute test cases manually using Jira tool; Automating the test cases by using the Cucumber and Karate API Framework; Automating the test cases for performance testing by using JMeter; Perform API testing using Postman, Swagger and validated request-response JSON using different scenarios; Participate in test plans and providing test estimates; Designing and executing manual test cases and timely reporting of test status; Performed API testing using Postman, Swagger and validated request-response JSON using different scenarios; Creating SQL queries to validate the database records created as a result of user activities in the SQL server database; Created API test plans, define test scenarios, coordinate and schedule testing, and report results and defects; Created overall API test plan, including defining, estimating, prioritizing, planning, and coordinating testing activities; Performing system integration testing, regression testing, performance testing, and coordinating user acceptance testing; Developed test scripts to implement test cases, test scenarios, and features for BDD (Behavior Driven Development), TDD (Test Driven Development) using Cucumber in Gherkin format; Designed and developed automation test scripts in Java implementing test cases in Karate API Framework; Creating test cases and test plan for new enhancements for project in Jira; Maintaining the Java automation code and resources in GitLab over the time for new features by utilizing Git; Problem solving and defect tracking tools like Jira; and, Java Testing Frameworks like Test NG and Junit based on project build tool Maven. Position may allow working from home within commuting distance of worksite location.
