Job Description
The organization’s risk management framework is designed to promote strong governance and effective risk oversight that is systematic, transparent, credible, timely, and auditable. Through clearly defined roles and responsibilities, the program supports the identification, assessment, monitoring, and management of risks that may impact the company, including credit, financial, liquidity, market, operational, compliance, reputational, and strategic risks.
Under general supervision, the Business Risk Specialist supports the Loss Mitigation business line by coordinating and managing responses to internal and external audits and examinations. This role serves as a key liaison between auditors and business partners, ensuring audit requests are understood, appropriately assigned, accurately documented, and submitted in a timely manner. Audits and examinations may be conducted by multiple regulatory and oversight bodies, including internal audit, HUD, Frannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and the OCC.
The Business Risk Specialist monitors and manages audit requests received through a shared mailbox, assigns requests to the appropriate stakeholders, and works closely with business lines to develop complete and accurate responses. The role partners with business teams to gather, validate, and compile required documentation and artifacts, leveraging systems such as SharePoint to review, maintain, and reference control documentation. This individual facilitates meetings with business partners to review controls, explain audit expectations, validate responses, and provide ongoing support throughout the audit lifecycle.
Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
One to two years of applicable experience
Preferred Skills / Experience
Experience supporting loss mitigation, internal audits, or regulatory examinations
Knowledge of loss mitigation processes and applicable regulations, including RESPA and ECOA
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple business lines
Ability to manage multiple requests, meet deadlines, and work independently in a fast‑paced environment
Proficiency with standard computer applications and document management tools, including SharePoint
Strong attention to detail, organization, and analytical skills
Location expectations
This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role.
