Job Description
U.S. Bank is seeking the position of Software Engineer – Full Stack in Irving, Texas.
Essential Responsibilities:
The Software Engineer –Full Stack will develop, configure, and deliver APIs using Java for software applications and webpages. Work with all stages of the SDLC, including gathering requirements, designing and analyzing customer specifications, and developing and customizing the application. Develop APIs in Java for PolicyConfigUI to fetch questions for KYC (Know Your Customer) application. Implement rule assemblers to automate the process of rule generation by writing core business logic. Work with the POSTMAN tool, to sends a SOAP request to the web service provider to test webservices. Perform software troubleshooting and debugging, identifying performance bottlenecks and implementing optimizations for converting rest template to rest client. Identify and fix vulnerabilities related to Tomcat Spring Boot version upgrades. Participate in agile development processes including sprint planning and daily standups. Develop unit tests to ensure software reliability and regressions are minimized. Use GIT for version control and participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and maintain code quality. Leverage containerization tools such as Docker to ensure consistent development and deployment environments. Utilize JPA for efficient data persistence and object-relational mapping. Collaborate cross functionally with QA, DevOps and product teams to deploy and monitor microservices in Shield. Refactor complex services to improve scalability, maintainability and performance. Integrate front-end with backend APIs using Axios, handling authentication tokens, error states and secure data rendering. Utilize logging and monitoring tools such as Splunk, Datadog to proactively identify and resolve system issues in production. Participate in technical design decisions on system scalability, security and maintainability. Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins to automate test and deployment processes across development and production environments. Implement API security best practices including OAuth2, JWT authentication and role-based access control to protect sensitive data and enforce compliance with security standards. Position may allow working from home within commuting distance of worksite location. Multiple Positions.
Basic Qualifications:
Requires at least a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering plus 2 years of experience as a software development engineer, software developer, Java developer or related.
Required Skills/Experience:
Requires at least a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering plus 2 years of experience as a software development engineer, software developer, Java developer or related. Must possess 2 years of experience with all of the following: (a) developing and delivering Domain Driven Design APIs using Spring boot and RESTful webservices, including implementing secure scalable services using Swagger for API documentation; (b) working with Java applications using: Spring Boot frameworks, REST, object relational mapping (ORM), Kafka, relational databases, and NoSQL cloud-supported databases; (c) using and implementing microservice based architecture using Docker and Amazon ECS; (d) working in a DevOps environment setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Terraform, including implementing monitoring and deployment automation with datadogat; (e) continuous integration/continuous Deployment (CI/CD) including implementing CI/CD pipelines and containers using Docker, including setting up automated quality checks, and managing container orchestration in production environments; (f) developing cloud native applications with robust observability setups; (g) developing and integrating enterprise-grade authentication and authorizations, including single sign on (SSO) brackets and field level encryption; (h) leveraging Elasticsearch and logstash for search and log indexing and ElastiCache for caching strategies; and (j) using Splunk for application monitoring and diagnostics across multiple microservices. In lieu of a Master’s degree plus 2 years of experience we will accept a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering plus 5 years of experience as a software development engineer, software developer or Java developer and 5 years with all of the skills listed above.
