Job Description

At U.S. Bank, we’re building what’s next

We’re looking for a data professional who can bridge analytics and engineering—someone who not only answers business questions, but builds the data foundation that makes those answers possible.

This role sits within the Deposits space and is designed for someone who thrives in complex environments, enjoys ownership, and can move fluidly between data pipelines, business insights, and executive storytelling.

What you’ll do

You’ll lead and deliver end-to-end data and analytics solutions—from ingestion to insight.

  • Lead and own complex, large-scale analytics initiatives supporting the Deposits business
  • Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and workflows within cloud environments, including Azure Synapse
  • Develop curated datasets and enterprise-grade data models to support analytics and reporting
  • Integrate data from multiple enterprise sources, ensuring data quality, consistency, and traceability
  • Perform advanced analysis and translate findings into actionable business recommendations
  • Identify trends and patterns in complex datasets to address key strategic questions
  • Design and deliver Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions, including data modeling and performance optimization
  • Create intuitive, high-quality visualizations that enable clear, executive-ready decision making
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to define requirements and deliver scalable solutions
  • Monitor and continuously improve data pipelines, models, and reporting assets
  • Ensure all work aligns with enterprise risk, governance, and compliance standards

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 6–8 years of experience in data analytics, data engineering, or a related discipline

Preferred Skills & Experience

Data Engineering & Architecture

  • Advanced SQL and Python skills
  • Experience building and optimizing data pipelines and data models
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Synapse Analytics or similar cloud platforms
  • Strong data modeling expertise (dimensional modeling, curated data layers)
  • Experience working with large, complex datasets in enterprise environments

Analytics & Business Insight

  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into business impact
  • Experience performing advanced analysis and identifying meaningful trends and insights
  • Ability to connect technical outputs to business strategy and decision-making

Visualization & Reporting

  • Proven experience designing and delivering Power BI dashboards
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, DAX, and performance optimization
  • Experience building scalable reporting solutions and semantic layers

Collaboration & Delivery

  • Demonstrated ability to partner across teams to deliver analytics solutions
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex insights clearly
  • Proven ability to manage and deliver against complex initiatives

Nice to have

  • Experience supporting Deposits or Consumer Banking businesses
  • Familiarity with SAS for analytics and programming

How this role is different

This is not a pure analyst role—and it’s not a pure data engineer role.

It’s a hybrid position designed for someone who:

  • Builds the data
  • Interprets the data
  • And tells the story that drives action

Think ~20% analytics + ~80% data engineering and delivery, with strong ownership across both.

Why join us

You’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Shape how data supports one of the bank’s core businesses
  • Build modern, scalable data solutions
  • Influence decisions at scale through clear, actionable insights

The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
