Job Description
As a Director of A2A Payment & Data Products, you will partner closely with the VP Product, VP Risk, Head of Data Science, and other product leaders to shape product strategy and roadmap of Visa’s A2A payments and open banking data products in North America. You will build a world-class product for A2A payments to execute on Visa’s 2030 strategy and bring it to life. The right candidate will have a strong background in payments, open banking, and technology, with demonstrated experience in building high-performing payment and data products.
A successful candidate is a product leader with the ability to engage in high bandwidth conversations with business and technology partners and be able to think broadly about Visa’s business and drive solutions that will enhance the product-market-fit of Visa’s A2A products. This role represents an exciting opportunity to make key contributions to a strategic offering for Visa. The candidate will be comfortable with ambiguity, with strong attention to detail, and excellent collaboration skills.
To be successful in this role, you need to be a self-starter, highly organized, and deeply understand the mindset of customers and users of open banking payment and data products. You will need to be able to build, lead, and mentor product managers and effectively collaborate with a team of sales managers, solution architects, risk leaders, data scientists, and software engineers. You will also need to be able to successfully handle stakeholders on all levels across the organization, in a global environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, mentor and motivate a high-performing team of product managers within Visa’s North America A2A payments team, championing a culture of innovation and continuous improvement through tenacious prioritization
- Drive the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Visa’s A2A payments and data products
- Partner with cross-functional leaders to ensure that Visa’s A2A product strategy and capacity allocation is optimized to meet customer’s needs, driving innovation and ensuring product-market-fit
- Drive key initiatives to meaningfully improve product performance, maximize funnel conversion, and create a seamless user experience
- Understand the broad set of Visa’s product capabilities and identify opportunities for collaboration and creating unique advantages aligning closely with Visa’s global product teams
- Monitor A2A and digital payments market trends and the competitive landscape to identify potential threats and opportunities and syndicate across teams
- Continuously collect and interpret market needs from clients, internal users, through market research, and synthesize findings to create and execute new product development, priorities, packaging and pricing
- Collaborate with marketing to develop product launch and sales training materials that articulate product value and differentiation to the target market
- Manage the product lifecycle from concept through launch and beyond, ensuring timely delivery of products to market. Advocate for efficiency improvements in product operations and PDLC
- Drive the product management and development methodology and process from concept through delivery
- Ensure scrum processes, and ceremonies for product and engineering are followed (prioritize the backlog, create stories, coordinate and oversee release planning and execution, ensure process improvements through retrospectives, and track velocity/burndown)
- Facilitate quarterly product review meetings to communicate product roadmap and extended value propositions
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
• 10 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 8 years of
experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 5 years of work experience
with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
• 10 or more years’ experience in banking, eCommerce or payments with 5 or more years’ experience
building and managing payment products across various geographies utilizing local and
international payment rails
• Hands-on experience building high-performing A2A payment and data products from the ground up
in high-risk verticals (e.g. iGaming, Remittance, Crypto/Brokerage) in the payments space with a
proven track record of successful business impact at scale
• In-depth knowledge of payment products, rails, and functionality including the associated risks in
North America (ACH, RTP, FedNow, EFT, etc.) is a must
• Experience developing and implementing products and infrastructure that utilize open banking data
to initiate payments, especially wallet payments (pay-ins and payouts)
• Experience developing and implementing products that support manual account verification (e.g.
instant micro-deposits, data bases checks) for payment use cases
• Proven track record partnering with architects to design payment systems that can operate at scale,
under high peak load with minimal latency
• Ability to fully understand technical architecture, APIs and overall system design
• Ownership mentality with a demonstrated track record of delivering business growth
• Strong passion for all things payment (rails, processes, technology, innovation)
• Working well within a heavily matrixed organizations, multi-national experience a plus
• Outstanding communication skills at all levels
• Experience in working with agile lifecycle and/or tracking and process management tools, e.g., JIRA
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities
• Proven ability to execute via successful external partnerships, and experience evaluating vendor
offerings, integrating, and managing relationships
• Strong communication and influencing skills to work with internal and external stakeholders, with
ability to clearly articulate problem statements
• Sound business judgment with established strategic/conceptual thinking skills to ideate, design and
deliver on vertical segment and channel solutions
• Demonstrated ability to balance longer-term strategic thinking against more tactical execution of
shorter-term deliverables
Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 142,700.00 to 258,750.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
